My experience with this set is really odd. All of these colors are fairly granulating, which usually works best with very textured paper. However, I found Mayan blue in particular to be incredibly gritty and uneven on Arches rough press paper. I had to resort to painting a layer of phthalo blue on top to get some cohesiveness. But all the colors were easy to control in wet into wet washes to created carefully light and shadows on smoother Canson Montval, which is a good quality wood pulp paper, and it was lovely when I used it fairly concentrated on hot press paper to paint a dark pond. I really love piedmonte and jadite in particular, and this set is fun to play with, it is quite expensive, and I have to use a lot of paint to get deep colors, to the point of it being gooey, so not very cost effective.
