85 % indian railway is electrified till now and target is 100% electrification b4 March 2024. Marching towards world's most environment friendly railways and will save precious foreign reserves also used for buying fuel.

@@abracadabra42 In 2023 , 57% of India's electricity is generated from fossil fuel( coal, lignite ,gas and diesel) and 43% is generated from Non fossil fuel ( hydro ,wind ,solar , Nuclear etc )

Last year India generated 5% from solar, 4.6% from wind, 11% from hydro, 4.4% from nuclear + biomass and the rest 75% from fossil fuel mostly coal. That ratio is slowing shifting in favor of renewables but it won't happen anytime soon. India has set 2070 as net zero emissions timeline

It's a very highly circulated myth that technology create unemployment... No truck driver will loose their job... When DFC will start operating then it will develop the country...means more requirements of truck driver... Although truck will get replaced by DFC in long route but at the same time it will create more space in short route for trucks... For example DFC will only do transportation from Delhi to Kanpur... But there will be need of truck to transport that material from kanpur to nearby small cities...

Why can't we widen tracks to put two containers side by side & double decker, so that we can use space efficiently... Current width of tracks are based on British standards of 18th century double horse cart....

mozzam bhai india mai bhi python freight train or super vasuki freight train operational hai jinki lenght kam se kam 5 se 6 km hoti hai. in trains mai 2 WAG12 electric locomotives lage hote hai. or kai python train mai4 se 5 WDG6g or WDG4g diesel locomotives lage hote hai bus yeh hai ki abhi wo purani rail line par operate hoti hai usa mai jayada market freight trains ka passengers train aapko bahut hi kam milegi . but india ka senerio alag yaha logo mai train se ek emotion juda hai logo ko 100 km bhi jana ho toh wo roadways ke bajaye railway use karna jayada prefer karte hai.

Coal engine trains ham ab old movies mein dekhte hain. Yahan 90 to 95 percent trains electrified ho chuki hain. Baki oil pe chalti hain.
