PIDE BASICS Survey found there is a huge trust deficit among the public and
government institutions, while the social trust is severely lacking as well.
Culture & Economics
- Why is there no community level cohesion in Pakistan?
- When will Pakistanis stop working in silos and join hands regardless of ethnic, religion or any other social identity and collectively work towards a better future for themselves, the community and the country?
- Can a country progress where females mostly remain outside of the labor
force?
- What is the unifying factor among Pakistanis, to build trust and collaboration to increase social and economic interaction among us while maintaining our unique identities?
- We should also question our value system. Is this value system in line with
the requirements of a modern, open and productive society?
- We hear stories of how the Middle Eastern countries as well as our partner in CPEC China, are questioning our values such as honesty, commitment, work ethic etc.

So first of all kudos on recognizing that most of the views on the PIDE videos are from India and thank you for making them. There is some sound non-political analysis here. I'll try to answer your question about culture as well.. Culture is the construct that gives one a sense of identification & belonging within a group. It could be the fact that I speak, like most others from Lucknow, in a third person using "hum" rather than "mai". It could similarly be the fact that when I get inside my house I remove the slippers or shoes outside like other people that I identify with. The question, i believe with culture, is not what it isn't & rather in defining what it is. Ye keh dena ki falaan hamara culture nahi hai is reductive & divisive which beats the purpose of culture in the first place. The objective is to create a sense of belongingness rather than othering of those not identical to you

We feel very safe by shutting our minds with the conviction that we have all the requisite knowledge for more than thousand years and that is more than sufficient. Reminds me of the greatest Muslim leader Zia-ul-Haq who on the behest of “baba ji “ Ashfaq Ahmad started telling people”پاکستان کو پڑھے لکھے لوگوں نے نقصان پہنچایا ہے”😊

Having watched many PIDE discussions,some of them truly impressive,specifically on this point of culture etc..my observation is a metropolitan culture is perhaps a must for progressive thinking..here in Bengalore I see that every day. Societies with no mix of culture, religion normally remain conservtive..though there are exceptions...perhaps Pakistan should think of promoting this concept.. thanks

In India Muslims dragging India progress. Muslims are not loyal to nation. Most of Indians avoid mixing with Muslims and we don't rent rooms to Muslims

I read the book SOPHIE's World. In the book writer used beautiful metaphor for philosopher. He attributed the "world" as a rabbit which came out from the hat as a result of magic. He denotes people with the rabbit hair. For philosophers he said that these are those people who tried to jump up from the hair and examine reality beyond the fur of rabbit. Regretfully in Pakistan owing to disgusting cultural practices critical thinking is shunned. If one tries to think differently people started labeling them as non-conformist and culturally not fit. Even though if someone is interested in reading books fellows started to criticize them that with derogatory remarks like 'Book worm' or 'Kitabon mein rehny waly dunya nahi samjhty'. But they don't know only fools despise wisdom.

True. All around bhishnies. Nu single entity could build Trust, culture is dishonest and DNA is cryotic footrint. Pseudo Leadership out of people; socity lacks trusts because of uncertainities as estate 've lost economic rests and writs. Kya estate fresh drinking water citizen supplies ensured???
