Sat in the same pia plane not far from saleem jaffar, back in summer of 1988' heading to Pakistan in school summer holidays, what a time it was.

Waseem is fortunate and Jafarm was not. 1987 world cup semi-final steve waugh scored 17 runs to Jafar in the last over of the innings and Pakistan lost that game by 17 runs only and Jafar got all the blame of those runs. After that I did not see Jafar on international stage.

Salim Jafar did play on and off for the national side until 1991!! Therafter never to be seen again.

18 runs against Australia in 1987 World Cup semi final ended Jaffer’s career because Pakistan was hot favorite for that World Cup but unfortunately Steve Waugh smashed saleem Jaffer 18 runs in his last over and Pakistan lost that match by 18 runs

Viv Richards showed overconfidence. His talent made him proud...it seems. Mudassar was an ordinary bowler... while Akram was very good. Richards' pride made him lose his wicket as well as the match

Muddassar was a medium pacer cutter bowler so he was always unpredictable

Jafar did not play much as he was not as good as the Akram of 86-87. And of course not a fraction of the Akram of 89 and beyond.

Saleem Jaffer cost pakistan 1987 World cup. Steve Waugh hit him for 20 runs in the last over. Pakistan lost by 18 runs. He was a medium pacer with lots of back injuries.

That WC 1987 (semi)--SJ bowled that over at yorker lengths but Steve still managed get 18--- Nothing wrong with SJz bowling though...
