safety measures are adopted they actually practice it for months before 3-4 groups compete in one dahi handi Mumbai and Pune city has very tall dahi handi and you will find it in every chowk. ambulance is always available at such places.there can be more than 100 dahi handies in a single city mostly celebrated in Maharashtra state.

Dahi handi is a part of Krishna janmashti festival.. It's practiced mostly in mumbai region..and this festival is also celebrated in diff. Ways depending upon the region or place where you live..

Thanks for the review. A slight correction. This is not called Krishna Janmashthami. It is called DAHI HANDI or Navmi, which is the day afterJanmasthami. The highest is a record of 43.79 feet (nine level human pyramid), a Guinness record. And it is mainly associated with western India, especially Maharashtra. Additional info: while all of India celebrates Janmashthami at midnight between seventh and eighth day of the month of Bhadrapada of Hindu Calendar, but only in Mathura in UP where Krishna lived His childhood, it is celebrated the following day because He was carried by His father to Mathura where He was believed to be born (at that time) by people of Mathura

You are right, its lord krishna s birthday, and he was fond of butter and use to break the pot of his neighbour..so its celebrated in mostly in western part of India... Mumbai, pune, Thane are the main hubs...its called Dahi handi, so in every area different people put handis at different hieghts...before the festival starts areas or locality make their team with memebers from the dame area ..they travel in cars or bikes together and go to different parts of the city...if matki is unbroken they make these pyramids and try to break ot.. Depending upon the hieghts there is prize if you break it...so its starts from 21000 to 51 lakh...if they cant break it they are given Prasad and trophy...its very dangerous and.need practice.there is medical facilities at very pandal but still people get injured and some times permanent damages to the body or paralyses...but govt now allow only less hieghts....

Height varies, in big cities like pune mumbai there is kinda specialist boys for it and height is very much there. in smaller areas height is less 4-5 layers.

Professional teams Practice sessions starts one or two months prior the festival date. From ground till 3rd level, inside area of the well is packed with people, so when they fall from top they don't touch ghe ground directly, ya it's a game of courage & we marathas are full of it, as our idol is chatrapati shivaji & shambhaji maharaj. Starting mei matki fodte nahi hai. Sabko layers lagane ka chance diya jata hai. Jo team sabse jyada layers lagati hai, Usey at the end matki fodne ke liye chance diya jata hai. Aur isme award also hota like 1lac-5lac to 20 lac 🌼 Mei jis team mei tha hum 7 layers lagate tey ❤️

I am the member of one of the mandal in pune where we celebrate dahi handi, ganapati nd navratri... we used to make 7-8 layers for dahi handi... unfortunately I can't attend much of these festivals as am working in Qatar nowadays...

Dahi handi August month main hota hai and preparation start hoti hai around 1 month before and local logoke groups hote hai specially mumbai me jyada dahi handi groups hai and I am also participate in that and hight minimum 1 floor se lekar 6 floor tak hoti hai

We start our gymining and in morning we go to gym where we have kesar milk with jalebi for strength and we go out to break handi. Normally we start at 9 in morning and end by 8-9 in evening. Each group has around 800-900 and each has defined responsibilities. We really enjoy a lot during gokulashtami and prize money we earn goes in few lakhs

This generally organized by group of people and local leaders or trader unions. Each handi has prize money which is in lacs of Rupees. The higher the handi more is prize money. This is mainly done in Maharashtra Mumbai and Pune.

this festival is called janmashtmi.. and this is verý oossm festival..celebrate on the birth of Lord shri Krishna... and these guys who perform this ' ' ' Matki fodd ' event are known with the "gopalla".. and ya ..there were many Tolli is mumbai with different names who do that act..and they get a handsome price money after Foodding that Mutki... although they start practicing that act before few month... but on the actual day...many precautions were taken the police and local ground support so that these gopallas will be safe while performing the task... this is the one of the popular festival of Maharashtra state ..and celebrate with so much fun at mumbai streets.. i guess the basic height of Mukti hanging would be around upto 5th floor... but reallly fun to watch this ...live specially Dadar, Andheri, Churchgate ..area Mutki 😊👍

Har 4 se 5 saal mein spain se log aate hai. Us din ek competetion ka mahol rahta hai. Spain ka record hai 11 floor ka jisse mumbai break kar chuki hai. Mumbai ke group ne height ka record hai.
