There was nothing stereotypical about the Bajaj Ad. You should watch it again as you completely missed the soul and the message behind it. The adv is trying to portray that although we are progressing and are becoming modern, we are still connected to our roots. The music as well is a blend of classical and rock. So for example, when his feet touches the other guy, the music changes. The woman is driving scooty but still has her sindoor. About that bajaj Ad, bajaj has always been known for its baja chetak scooter. it was one of the icons of india almost, a newly independent India made its own acooter an all.. bahut emotional scene thha. Fir 90s me they wanted to get into motorcycles, and they wanted scooter ki jo indianness hai wo bike pe transfer ho jaaye. brand positioning transfer ho. Aur wo time, early 90s ka, was a time of india's transition too. to that ad where India opens its doors to the globe (through globalisation) without losing its indianness thha. Bande bike par stud banke ghoom rahe hain, par rangoli ki bhi izzat karte hain. Aaj ye bada cliche sa lagta hai.. but back then it was a real conversation that we all were going through while growing up. Us 90's kids. Aap nahin kar paaye relate faarruq bhai... par apne liye bada emotional ad hai. isliye its one of the most successful bajaj campaigns.

It was not stereotypical they showed the stylish guy influenced by western culture but when his feet touches the other guy (even in western jacket and books he touches him and bows him (because indians thinks its a sin if ur feet touches other person) You also didn't understand the cadbury ad where girl is leaving her home.
