One such unit is a "Maha-Kalpa" which is composed of 36000 such days of Brahma. One Maha-Kalpa is considered as the lifetime of Brahma. There are time units which are larger than one Maha-Kalpa. The largest of them has been calculated as several quadrillions of human years. This precise and massive calculations indicate one important aspect of vedic time system, that, whenever the term "Infinity" has been mentioned in Vedas, it does not indicate something very large. The idea behind praying to nature and animals was to make sure that humans do not indiscriminately destroy or abuse these blessings rather nurture and safeguard them and inculcate them into their daily life. E.g- Tulsi, cow, banyan tree, river etc. If they were not intertwined into the way of life, they would've been destroyed and life would become hell.

I have no contradiction with this belief and support them to arrange or organise Puja. This uniqueness of Hinduism makes me a proud Hindu. Neither I am socially boycotted because of my atheist nature nor I disrespect any traditional Hindu rituals. I also resent when I find any attack on Hindus in the name of Hinduism and their rituals. To respect Hinduism, I refuse to take beef and oppose cow slaughtering.

There are 3 kinds of texts in Hinduism as given below 1. Shrutis (Vedas and Upanishads) :- most important texts. applicable for all times. 2. Itihasa (Ramayana , Mahabharata and Bhagwat Gita) :- Purva Vritam, Katha yuktam That which happened in past but told in a story format in order to teach morality, ethics and the essence of Upanishads. 3. Puranas (Markandeya purana, Shiva Purana, Vishnu Purana, Garud purana, etc):- these are basically stories meant for kids in order to understand essence of Upanishads. Adults don't/shouldn't take it literally.

Hinduism has 6 main philosophies including one which is nastik (atheist). The most recent one is Vedanta which literally means "End of knowledge". A sub category of Vedanta is Advaita Vedanta. Advaita means non-dual which basically means we are not different from God. If God is omnipresent (if he is not omnipresent then that means there is something other than God also and that there are two or more Gods which basically means that GOD is not all that powerful viz. not omnipotent) then there is nothing but God and we (our Atma) are also part of God. There is another sub category of Vedanta (Dvaita Vedanta) philosophy which states that God is separate from us. Hinduism is a supermarket of spiritualism. You can take whatever suits your temperament.

Hinduism exactly religion nahin hai, at least West k concept se nahi. Yeh religion humein rules aur commandments k bandhan mein nahi baandhta. Hinduism humein freedom deta hai hum apne tareeqe se ishwar se connect karein. Koi tareeqa ghalat nahin hai. Bus, ishwar mein vishwas hona chahiye aur dharm k marg par chalna chahiye.
