Agreed. Just re-do some of the videos and cut out some of the cutesy nonsense. IMO that harms rather than enhances these presentations...which are, otherwise, very good. I'm a Jack Webb guy: just the facts, lady, just the facts. Just give us the information--like Maarten Heilbron does. If I want entertainment I'll...wait a minute, I don't want entertainment!!! Just the facts!

Important missing information: The 3 auto ISO settings are specific to each custom set. So you can effectively have 7x3=21 different kinds of auto iso settings. This is what made the Q menu most interesting to me. Thanks for another great video.

Thank you. I was just about there with the Q menu and custom settings but you've cleared up the BASE issue which I didn't quite understand and I didn't know about holding down the Q button for 2 secs. Another really useful, high quality and fun video.

I have had these cameras since the xpro 1 came out and although I kind of worked out what was going on, you have made it so much clearer here. Thanks for such a good explanation of what does seem to me to be an imperfect but understandable system.

As a run and gun music video shooter, the Q menu, switching between 24FPs and 60FPS for performance/B-Roll seems really good to learn. Thanks for the knowledge bombs as always!

Definitely cleared up a few issues. Never really needed any of this for my landscape images but with two young children I've started to setup my camera for some quick on the fly shooting, playing with simulations and recipes and it's really helped me understand more some the customization that possible.

@@pal2tech Wow Chris thank you so much for sharing your thoughts about Q menu & Custom packages. Well: What 's the best uses for both "Q Menu" and "My Settings"? What difference do you make between the two? And how do you decide to assign a function to one or the other? For example, my uses: > I assigned my most used settings (photometry, timer, face/eyes detection, etc) to "My settings" (= HOW THE CAMERA WORKS), VS > I want to dedicate the Q-Menu to customize film simulations, sharpness, black and white, color rendering, etc. (= WHAT THE PICTURE WILL LOOK LIKE) What do you think? Can I improve anything? Thank you so much for your help ;) greatings from France. Your channel is the more precise about the use of the Fujifilm gear. Sooo helpful.

The Q menu is a gamechanger to me, I can easily set settings when the situation demands it! The Q-menu while in playback to summon the built-in RAW Conversion is also my fave! Can't wait for that tutorial! ;)

I was so confused with the Q menu on the XT30 and I spent weeks working it out, especially the Base bit. Wished I'd seen your video first and saved some time, but it was good to know I got there any how. I still didn't understand about the red dot though and I'm grateful to find out about it now. Wow... as a recent owner of a T-4, I am delighted to see a new option to explore with the 'Q'... and I just created my first ever Custom Setting... thanks... this has helped me clean up and pare down the 'My Menu' setting... making life simpler...

I am using the Fuji sytsem for some years now. I didn't really make use of the Q-Menu because I mostly shoot only RAW. Maybe even then it makes sense for a quick switch of dynamic range and film simulation. Thanks a lot for your videos. They are entertaining and always contain lots of interesting information.

I lived in Japan for a few years and saw that detail oriented culture in action. It is quite possible that they have a superior grasp on complicated set ups like this to your average North American because they are geared to it from a young age. Or maybe not.

Thanks!! Great explanation. I was only using the Q menu for the 2 second timer. This opens up more possibilities. I like to play around with the film sims and was changing parameters from the main menu because of the confusion associated with the Q menu.

I’ve been watching your videos for a while as a non Fujifilm owner. An Olympus shooter who was gravitating towards Fujifilm. And now, having bought my first x series ( an x-t1 in 2022!) it’s gratifying to watch your video as a Fujifilm owner.
