LYRICS: Maybe I left you But you were with your friends I tried to make a good impression But I failed again It was New Years Eve, there's too much noise I could barely hear my own voice I always said you were too shy But then I went off to cry I stopped so many times Blank faces passing me by I wish I never worn that white dress And you found me outside Looking like somebody died Thought my heart was coming out my chest I don't wanna be alone on New Years Eve Do you even wanna be with me? I don't wanna be alone on New Years Eve Do you even wanna be with me? I vaguely remember laughing with your best friend And you used to tell me that she didn't like me Did you lie or did she pretend? I don't wanna be alone on New Years Eve Do you even wanna be with me? I don't wanna be alone on New Years Eve Do you even wanna be with me? I think you're so kind And all I give you is such a terrible time And I fucked it, never forget The way you looked at me Yeah, I fucked it, never forget You're the best thing that's happened to me I don't wanna be alone on New Years Eve Do you even wanna be with me? I don't wanna be alone on New Years Eve Do you even wanna be with me? Oh, I don't wanna be alone on New Years Eve You're the best thing that's happened to me I don't wanna be alone on New Years Eve You're the best thing that's happened to me

"this bands aesthetic is great", and what aesthetic is that exactly? A woman that dresses like Robert Smith from the Cure and her band-mates that look like every other 'indie-pop' band. Don't misunderstand me, I quiet like the songs that i've heard from them, they slightly remind me of The Good Natured - lineup, sound and female goth singer vide is identical. The word 'aesthetic' seem to get thrown around a lot with these neon liking bands, which annoys me.

Maybe he doesn't even know and he's just coping what someone else has wrote.

Shut the fuck up. He said band not video. It's two goths and two new wavers big fucking deal. They haven't created some new "aesthetic".

Y'all need to stop being so critical. Remember they're a band just starting out. They're still experimenting, finding their audience, and no one ever starts off original. Everyone starts out covering, looking to inspirations for help, until eventually they find their own sound. Enjoy the song or don't, but don't expect them to be this amazing, fresh, 10-years-of-songwriting-and-touring-experience band that they clearly aren't right now.
@GetOffMyLawn-nq5pe6 жыл бұрын

What do view counts have to do with how new a band is?? Television Romance video has only been out since September, so yeah it's pretty damn new.
@nicoreyes40266 жыл бұрын
Even if they were suddenly the most popular band on earth, they would still be considered new? Popularity and how new a band is aren't mutually exclusive
@marionfitness55095 жыл бұрын
You are so right. They are a pop band not pretending to be anything else. Don't have to listen.
@ellemiller32685 жыл бұрын
Hm.. go listen to Caring Is Creepy by The Shins (first song, first album) and then tell me everyone starts out looking for their own sound and doing covers. Jenny Was A Friend Of Mine by The Killers, The First Song by Band of Horses, Re-Hash by Gorillaz, Intro by Alt-J, Animal Skins by Dry The River, Posters by Youth Lagoon, Sun It Rises by Fleet Foxes, You by Radiohead, Smells Like Teen Spirit by Nirvana. Just to name a *few* more bands that started out fantastic and stayed that way. Some people just aren’t that talented and it shows in these mediocre bands that get cycled through so fast these days because it all *sounds the same*. It’s vomit.

The story of feeling alone in a relationship is an all too common tragedy. I love how they narrate from the point of the loser, that is, the person losing the most. For me, their music is a place for recovery. It helps us into the New Year, where the past is beautifully broken. (cue 'There's a Honey') 10...9...8...7...
