my grandpa use to roll up a small pea size mud when it rained and tell us to eat it and told us like this dr said that God made us from dirt and one day our bodies will turn back into dirt... and he'll tell us to eat it. wow, now i understand why....this is very interesting. 😊👍

Frostak: What does he do that makes you think he's fraudulent? Is it that he's not a traditional MD? I worked for MDs for 35 years, and as a result I am more trusting of Dr. Axe and Dr. Bergman than most MDs who wants to fix everything with another pill, regardless of their many sides effects.

He seems honest to me, but a bit unspecific. I totally agree with him on what causes leaky gut in modern era, all the things that he mentioned and that need to go away from our lives, but I'm not convinced when young people brag about old good times. They were not there to see or they could see people had all sort of disease then, especially infectious and many died young. The remaining ones were the strongest ones. What is beneficial dirt anyway? If he means not washing your salad, greenies and fruits... that's the best way to get toxoplasmosi, sometimes even leptospirosi. You make your choice.

I know we all have our own opinions and so I will say it’s not. I saw MD’s for years and non of them helped me. Just a bandage was all they did. I found a great NP and she finally started to help me and find out what was wrong. I did end up seeing a specialist thanks to her that helped diagnose one of my major problems and now we are working on healing my gut.

Shenghou lee hi, yes. She had send in a stool sample and food out I had salmonella and then we tested for SIBO and found that I had that. But of coarse we treated with Antibiotics. We tried natural, but it wasn’t helping. Then did prescription. Right now I’m back to the Fodmap diet, due to I don’t tolerate food well. I make make own bone broth without onion or garlic. Onions are number one in contributing to my first diagnosis of IBS and garlic is second. So right now I’m going back to the beginning, but it’s because I started to add in foods I can’t tolerate.😔

The title of your book, Eat Dirt, amused me. I used to work for an elderly man making his meals etc. He had a big backyard so I decided to grow an organic garden. One day I went to gather some lettuce for a salad. It was the curly kind and I had a hard time getting all the dirt rinsed out of the curly parts but I had finally got rid of all the dirt or so I thought. As we were eating supper, I noticed there was still a bit of dirt in the curls and I remarked on it. Then I said, "Oh, well, we all have to eat a pint of dirt before we die." The old guy said, "Well, I didn't want it all in one meal." :)) If he was still alive, I'd buy your book for him. :))

Back in the late 90's I read an article online that said that 35,000 metric tons of cosmic dust fall on the earth every day, which explains why the ancient cities are under several feet of dirt. here's a few suggestions for relieving leaky gut at home Eat a whole food, nutrient-rich diet that avoids foods which irritate your gut Make sure your digestion is working: You can follow an idea diet, but if you aren’t digesting food appropriately, it is not going to help. Find and eradicate underlying food sensitivities - eliminate a suspected food for a period of time Discover ways to reduce and eliminate stress:eg Prayer, meditation, yoga, adequate sleep, and acupuncture Eat gut healing foods and nutrients Balance your gut flora using appropriate amounts of fermented foods in your diet each day. Find and eliminate gastrointestinal infections Consider the use of gut-irritating medications: Reduce exposure to environmental toxins Get enough sleep and avoid overtraining which are a form of stress to the body. (I learned these and the reasons they work on Richala Remedy System website )

*I bought this when my adrenal fatigue treatment stalled. I don't have any GI issues, but I am trying to figure out why my blood work levels are not improving despite the supplements I have been taking for over a year (D3, iron, DHEA, etc..) and my adrenal fatigue recovery has plateaued without complete resolution of the fatigue and sleep difficulties. I stumbled upon the absorption issue theory of leaky gut, which in my mind would make sense for my above complaints. I also continue to have a strong addiction to sugar despite a year of dietary and lifestyle changes. Although much improved, there are times everyday when I feel like I have poison ivy and people tell me not to scratch, my body MUST have sugar for the pain and impulse of the sugar craving to go away. Understanding more about yeast in the gut and it's need for sugar to survive helped me understand the strong impulses for sugar. Convinced this is a logical thing to at least try to rule out that it is not a gut issue, I bought this leaky gut product and probiotics from another brand. I have taken both products for 2 weeks. The first week (like the fist week of the Whole 30) was filled with bowel changes and intense headaches, but after the "detox and adjustment" phase, I am convinced of the benefits for this product combined with probiotics. My stomach was visibly flatter in the first week. My sugar cravings are reducing significantly. Plain water can quench my thirst rather than needing flavored (sweetened) water, I am hungry less frequently throughout the day and at bed time. I am optimistic about continuing the treatment. The down side is the flavor. Adding it to water as directed was absolutely foul tasting. I tried for 4 days to take it with water, reducing the amount of water so I could get it down in one gulp and chasing it with the remainder of the required water to get rid of the taste. It was still just awful. Other reviews said they mixed it with juice. So even though I am trying to reduce sugar in my diet, I felt sticking with this treatment was worth adding a bit of juice to my diet. So I take it with orange juice and the the flavor is no longer a problem. Hope this helps, and good luck with your own journey to health.* Excellent results to compliment adrenal fatigue recovery, but take it with juice not water.

So why can't we just sprinkle a bit of dirt from the woods on our veggies when we eat them?
@martinward691
@martinward691 7 жыл бұрын
Allen Miller Thanks but if I remember correctly he says something like, "when I say 'eat dirt' I don't just mean go outside and eat a scoop of dirt". But what's the difference? if it's the same organic soil he's saying we need? Why not just eat some earth you've collected alongside the vegtables you've bought? Please some more people answer me. Thanks
@allenmiller2071
@allenmiller2071 7 жыл бұрын
I'm not suggesting going outside and eating dirt. I just don't clean off the small amount of dirt you find on mushrooms. He even seems to suggest if you buy carrots from the farmers market you don't wash off the carrots or peel them since there are small amounts of dirt on the carrots.
@martinward691
@martinward691 7 жыл бұрын
Allen Miller Yes but that's not answering my question. Organic soil is organic soil whether a vegetable has grown in it or not. Surely collecting and eating some of that good earth is the same as not washing it off a vegetable if it was grown in it?
@allenmiller2071
@allenmiller2071 7 жыл бұрын
So go out and eat the soil. Its your choice. Sprinkle your organic soil over your food. Its your body and your health. If you think that's what he is suggesting do it.

I am a fan of Dr Axe. Just one thing is expected from him, which is to be least commercial as possible because money destroys potential. I have observed you recommend enzyme supplements; I expected you would recommend direct food sources such as pineapples and papayas too for dygestive enzymes. I always try to prefer direct food sources in stead of purchasing supplements. Of course, if they are not available as food, I would purchase supplements.

Paul Tremblay cat litter is clay based, diatomaceous earth is not as it's silica unless you buy the kind intended as pest control around barns and that stuff is not pure diatomaceous earth. You should talk with a naturopath for their advice.

D.E. = Leaky Gut and Free Silica Lung Disease. D.E. Food grade or not should never be used in people or pets. Bentonite Clay or just plain dirt dug deep from forest or wild lands is best and no ill long term effects like with D.E.

TBI Firefighter Are you talking about silicoproteinosis? That happens when people inhale DE, not from drinking it and it usually occurs after prolonged exposure (days to years) of high concentrations. Proper precautions such as a dust mask limits the risk of this occurung. Bentonite clay can also be inhaled if precautions aren't taken.

The ONLY thing that healed my gut. He talks around it because he wants people the buy his products. When all you need is food grade diatomaceous earth. When I first discovered it, I started doing more research and was shocked that people weren't praising this stuff from the rooftops. It was actually HARD to find good research, and testimonials on it. But what I did find was pure gold, although it took some digging...no pun intended. My gut problems all stemmed from mercury toxicity (I had 14 amalgam fillings at one point, which all but 3 have been removed by traditional dentists that do not usesafe measures when removing them), which lead to candida overgrowth, which lead to leaky gut (candida literally eats you from the inside out, that's what it's there for- we all have it in our gut to help the body decompose when we die), which then lead to a misdiagnosis of an autoimmune disease-crohns. My energy was in the toilet, my fiance was growing tired of my non existent libido, I was constantly constipated, I had crazy mood swings and brain fog made it impossible to concentrate. My eyes got worse at every eye appointment. Since starting DE, I've noticed my energy skyrocket, my bowels are normal and multiple times a day, my brain feels clearer.... even if I get nothing else from taking it, those few things are well worth it for me!! I laugh at the doubters that say to never try DE internally, because they are the same people who will pop any pill a PRACTICING doctor gives them to mask their symptoms....and frown upon a NATURAL AND 100% SAFE supplement from the earth to treat the ROOT CAUSE. 🙃

@@ElevateHigherGuide Hi , I would love to know if you think it would be safe for my 12 year old daughter to try Diatamaceous Earth, as she has allergies and cant eat wheat and sugar. I had tried taking DE for 10 days, but I developed flu like symptoms and gave up. Though after a few months I realised that a lot of the issues I had like knee pain and lack of energy have got solved. I have the same allergies too, and don't react as much as my daughter now. So I want to try DE for her as well. Please tell me what you think. Thanks

geetmanchanda . Noticed your comment with regard to becoming sick after taking de. Many times people get Herxheimers reaction when doing detox programs . It is normal as the nasties are all dying and need to be removed quickly thus straining your organs . This phenomenon is also called detox sickness . You just need to start with a small dose and gradually work up . Do more research is my humble suggestion . Godbless Pat nz

read dr furnham and paul bragg. Animal protein has cholesterol but on a plant based diet your protein comes from legumes with no cholesterol footprint. It's obvious that a plant based diet will provide a much healthier lifestyle and help you in the long run.

First of all, thank you so very much for your guidance regarding leaky gut therapy. It has transformed my life and for that I am very grateful. I have thought about wanting to try the serrapeptase enzyme therapy for scar tissue in my shoulder that was a result of a fall a few years ago. Can you please recommend a company and its product as there appears to be no real conclusive data suggesting a product or the delivery of it into my gut, i.e., enteric coated versus cellulose based. And there appears to be a lack of good information about dosages for starting, curing and then maintaining the results of the therapy, so if you can, comment about what your would recommend.

Forget the scientific method for a moment (I can hear the visceral reaction already), and consider this from a deductive reasoning standpoint. When your body needs something it in fact needs something to replace what it has lost or used, or that has become damaged. For example, if we become dehydrated the best solution is hydration with fluids, especially water, or when our muscles atrophy we require proteins to build muscle, fats to maintain them over long term stents, and eventual breakdown of carbohydrates into simple sugars to fuel their usage of challenging exercises (like weight lifting that progressively goes from a lower weight to a heavier one over time with integrals of rest to allow for muscle anabolism and repair). Basic principle though: your body needs something? Give it to it. Second idea: to repair, or build a certain tissue, or organ you need to add in the components that are missing from it, or of which it is composed. In the case of the digestive tract we know for certain that it is epithelial tissue and that epithelial tissues contain collagen and biotin which are needed for it's health. Third concept. Find a good source of what your body needs. Often, when concerning animals, this means taking the parts of them highest in such things and making them possible to be readily useful and available for our bodies to digest, or transition them to where they are needed in the body. Bones of animals contain a whole host of collagen and connective tissue productive aids which is apparent from the function of them within the animals. Bone marrow for example in all life, even people is responsible for forming much of the connective tissues in our bodies, the greatest of which is blood, but also aids in immune system functioning, and yes, digestive health. So it logically follows that since bones are functionally good for our gut health normally, then acquiring them from animals, transforming them into something readily absorbabale and digestable, and then consuming it would benefit in the restoration, and repair processes of our gut.
