Hussein Aboubakr Mansou speaks with Robert Nicholson and co-host Dominique Hoffman to provide a unique Arab perspective to the conflict.
The anti-Semitic rhetoric sweeping the West is all too familiar to Hussein, who grew up in Egypt during the Second Intifada. He is willing to say what most are not. Although uncomfortable for many, Mansou addresses the deep-rooted antisemitism of the Arab world.
For the Arab world, the Palestinian question was never simply a geopolitical issue. “Free Palestine” is a unifying symbol both for religious and Arab nationalist aims.
Hussein explains the surprising ideological origins of modern Arab political thought and the religious fascist vision Hamas has for the region.

This video scratching itch for me that I couldn't quite reach. I've been thinking over the last couple months that Arab nationalism/pan nationalism is very Hegelian but I haven't heard anyone else say it, and haven't ventured it myself out loud. The missing context for me was the historical angle, and this podcast brushes the surface of that history which I hadn't known. To me it makes more sense of the so-called green red alliance, that is it's deeper than just hating the west. Ultimately, although most people on these sides don't know it, they're running the same low level intellectual architecture which is Hegelian in nature.

So in conclusion the debates between pro Palestinian and pro Israeli camps can also be categorized as debates between people living in the real world (which is hard and is about survival) and those living (or wanting to live) in comfort (in the fetishised world of theoretical constructs) ... essentially the difference in modern times between a leftist and a right leaning person. Really interesting.

I love Hussein Aboubakr Mansour but let's be clear...anti semitism in the Arab world is NOT new. The Arab world 100+... Jews were treated as 2nd or 3rd class citizens in the Arab world for 1400 years. They paid Sharia Jizya Islamic mafia taxes, they were forced to live in ghettos and were periodically raped, beaten and killed in pogroms. This might not be intuitively true, but the Arabs actually did the their Jews a favor by ethnically cleansing them in the 19th-20th centuries. We are infinitely better off in our indigenous homeland Israel than stuck in the Arab human rights cesspools. Where in the right of return, reparations, the recognition of the 850,000 Jewish refugees from the Arab Lands? Where in the UNRWA for these Jews and insane hereditary refugee status?

Jizyah was not Mafia taxes jizyah was imposed because in case of war they were not called for duty in the army and muslims were supposed to bleed to protect them and their property.. thank you for reading
