Just to clarify, Yaron Avraham was born in Lod, an Israeli city with jewish-arab population. Ie, an Israeli and citizen of Israel. Aged 9 years old , his family sent him to quranic school in Gaza. That is, after seeing one of his brothers murder his sister over "honour", and being used as a drug mule by the family. Before 9 years old. Then, from 9 to 14 he was in Gaza. In Gaza, he saw the muftis (?) kill two 13 year old boys, accused of being gay. At 14, he managed to flee back to the country he was born in, Israel. And somehow, someone pretends that he is a traitor. To who? If you want to make the claim, you have to give a reason. Would you have stayed in Gaza, any of you, and why would you do that? Being Israeli, why would that be treason? What good would have come from him staying on in Gaza, missing out on getting any real education. (quranic school is not education)

I am an exmuslim woman. I am happy for Yaron that he was able to build a better life for himself. Many are not so lucky cos the punishment of leaving islam is death penalty under sharia law. Everything he said brought back bad memories of growing up in an islamic country although less conservative than palestine. Also, I can't say that i dont feel bad for the Palestinian children who are taught hate from birth and paying the biggest price in this conflict. Every man who has escaped Gaza tells the same story (if you can find the opposite opinion, let me know) and yet many people in the West continue glorifying 'courageous resistance' of Palestinians...It's so sick and sad at the same time.

This is a very beautiful story of redemption which needs to be shown by networks. Sadly, they won’t because it seems that there are so many people whose minds right now are on the free Palestine movement. I cannot deny that there are so many women and children who have lost their lives in Gaza, it is very sad. But there is also a side that they are using the image of “children” to get the sympathy of many so that they can achieve their goal. There isn’t any Muslim who I can say have displayed patience and grace. There are exceptions who are more “subtle” in a sense but very rare, who are not combative, arrogant and aggressive. Majority of them are and if they belong to the radical Muslim groups, that is a different story and we know where it will go. Zechariah 12 says that Israel will be victorious and this was a prophecy made in the old times.
