Corey, what you should've asked is: 1. Was an ancient kingdom existed 2000 thousands years ago, in this land, that was called Judah? (following question) 2. If yes, Are the Jews of modern Israel are descendants of those who lived in the ancient kingdom?

So called "Palestinians" were invented by the Soviet KGB and the Soviet ideologists in 1964. This quite successful political project was initially brought to existence under the auspice of the chief of the Soviet propaganda machine M. A. Suslov with the collaboration of Romanian siguranca (intelligence service). Israeli Christians are not Arabs! They are Aramaeans/Assyrians and still speak Neo-Aramaic dialect in their families! This is a tricky question, and here are some points to consider: 1- Nobody has ever in history claimed a land referring to their ancestors living there thousands of years ago, while themselves having no connection to that land for thousands of years. If you make this a rule, very few if any country may stay safe from returning to other people, and the whole countries of the world must be change. Just as an example, all colonized lands, which means the whole American and Australian continents and much more, which were occupied just some hundred years ago must be returned to the native people. Guess what? Those colonizers are the biggest supporters of Israel! They have similar ideologies and act similarly, occupation, apartheid, and genocide. 2- Israeli's are not the first people who have lived there ever. The history doesn't start where you point at. 3- Palestinians have lived there for thousands of years too, part of whom are just Jews converted to Islam. Palestinians, including Muslims, Christians, and Jews, lived in peace altogether before Zionism. Zionism is different from Judaism. Righteous Jews DO NOT support Zionism. Zionism was the cause of war in Palestine. 4- Zionist coming in ships to Palestine, and asking for help and saying, Europeans did Holocaust against us, please take us as guest and give us refuge, and then starting to claim the land is ours. Occupation, ethnic cleansing, and genocide were foreseen in the Zionists' plan since more than a hundred years ago. It hasn't happened out of the blue. 5- Have you heard about greater Israel? What that means? Israel is not even a regional, but a world threat. Zionism is the latest stage of western colonialism. The Zionists have shown their true face during the last 7 decades. They are a shame to humanity. 6- Israel believes in any Jew's right to return to Palestine after thousands of years, and gives the citizenship to any Jew who has never been to Palestine, and god knows how many percentages of his so-called ancestor's blood of thousands of years ago. At the same time, denies the right of Palestinians to return, who still have their homes in Palestine, who have lived there for thousands of years, and were expelled through genocide and ethnic cleansing.

@MYTAccount
@MYTAccount 8 ай бұрын
@@sahlemus So paying tax (Jizyah) is equal to "not live in peace" and "being second class", right? OK, let's take a closer look at it! Do you know that: 1- Muslims must pay two different type of taxes, called "Khoms" and "Zakat". 2- Muslims must go to military service, fight in wars, and provide protection, while Dhimmis (None-Muslim believer in god, as Zoroastrians, Hindus, Christians, and Jews) who pay Jizyah, are exempted. The Muslim government must provide them protection. Dhimmis who were volunteered to go to military service 3- Women, children, elders, handicapped, the ill, the insane, monks, hermits, slaves, and Musta'mins (non-Muslim foreigners who only temporarily reside in Muslim lands) are exempted from paying Jizyah. 4- Jizya is calculated with regard to an individual's financial situation, so that the poor pay less or nothing (as mentioned above in nr:3) 5- According to Islamic law, elders, handicapped etc, must be given pensions, and they must not go into begging. 6- This Islamic law was introduced 1400 years ago by Islam (apparently is no longer imposed by in the Islamic countries). 7- Historically, the Jizya existed before Islam too. The word "Jizya" comes from the Persian word "Gazit", the tax gathered by Sassanid Persian Empire. 8- By the way, are you living Tax-Free in the country you're living? Now, if you think this 1400 years old Islamic Law is unfair, and violates "Peace" and makes one as a "Second class", you better look at the colonialists, claiming being democracy, including Israel, Britain, USA, Canada, and Australia, and what they have done against the natives of those occupied lands, in 20 and 21st century. Their inhumanity may make to reconsider your thoughts. Do you know that: In Israeli apartheid, they try to make the life of Palestinians as difficult as possible: - Deprivation of Palestinians from water: Palestinians were forbidden to access, or own the water sources, or dig a well to access water, as early as just the beginning of the Zionist occupation in 1948. - Different roads for Palestinians and Israelis: Roads in Palestinians residents are kept not only of very poor, but also the Zionists destroy the roads intentionally to make Palestinians' lives more and more difficult, while Israeli enjoy the highways, just some hundred meters or kilometers away. - Genocide and ethnic cleansing over more than 7 decades. - Right of return for any Jew from any country in the world for just being a Jew, who has never even been to Israel; while Palestinian refugees of war, who have lived for generations in Palestine, have no right to go back to their homes. - Detention, imprisonment, torture, murder of Palestinians, without even any charge. - Armed hostile settlers are free and even supported by IDF to harass and even shoot and kill Palestinians. - Entrance, disgrace and mishandle against Muslim holy places and Muslim prayers, by hostile settlers and IDF. - I can point out infinite number of crimes and atrocities by Israelis against Palestinians (Muslims and even Christians). Do you still think paying Tax (Jizya) is equal to violation of peace and being second class? Do you know that: - Genocide, ethnic cleansing, occupation, deprivation of Natives from their basic human rights in Israel, Britain, USA, Canada, and Australia. - 150 million American Indians were killed in genocide, and they were pushed to reservation camps. - "as recently as 1980s": Kidnapping and separating the Native children from their families, keeping them in Christian church schools, to disconnect them from their Native language, religion, and culture. And harass, abuse, torture, murder, and bury them in mass graves, . - "as recently as On September 18, 1973": Shooting Aborigines in Australia was an occurrence that was ignored and discounted, until it was illegalized. - "as recently as 1964": The separation of White- and Non-People in from smallest to biggest issues, in using buses, stations, drinking water taps (isn't it ridiculously and obviously inhumane?). - Still today: There are racist laws against black Americans and Native Americans, in the USA. Legally depriving them of the equal human rights. There is a lot more to say, you know that, or I hope you know. SO NOW TELL ME; WHERE DO YOU EXACTLY FEEL "IN PEACE" AND "FIRTS CLASS CITIZEN", WHICH HOPEFULLY THE OTHER RACES FEEL THAT WAY TOO. In which country do you live, if you're not ashamed to say.

If you look at the scientific studies done on this, weirdly its the paternal genome that has very strong links to ancient Israel among [vast majority of] Jews DNA across Europe & mid-east. Y-DNA. It's entirely unreasonable to expect that they apply to themselves some of kind of racial purity system. In any case, integration and breeding will eventually result in their descendants having the same direct ancestral connection that you refer to.

Guess what... almost every Jew on Earth IS descended from the original Hebrews. Almost all Jews (yes, the Ashkenazim too) have significant Levantine DNA even after 2000 years away from the homeland. Why? Because you CAN'T just decide on your own to become Jewish. It's not a proselytizing missionary religion like Christianity and Islam. It's a national, ethnic religion like the Druze religion. You're born Jewish. There is no separation between religion, culture and ethnicity.

The last guy was correct. Before the Zionist immigration that began in the late 1800s, the native Palestinian population consisted of several religious groups, including Muslim, Christian, Druze, Jewish, and Samaritan. Muslims were the majority, while the others were minorities. The Palestinian Jews were estimated to be about 3-6% of the population.

@jonson2953 when you say *the* original Jews.. you seem to be implying that jews from Europe and other regions are not descended from the jews of biblical times. This would be quite a bold claim and actually quite insane when you think about it if you are aware of genetic studies and simply based on the fact that religions don't spring out of nowhere in different areas of the world. Palistinian people are very closely related, genetically to Jews in general, particularly those who remained in the region of Palistine, however studies also show all modern Jewish groups are most closely related to each other. The fact is, both groups have ancestry from the region, and jews who moved to Europe also have European ancestry, while palistinians are going to have a mix of other Middle Eastern eastern ancestry along with Jewish ancestry. At the same time I'm sure there are at least some modern day Jews who have very little relation to biblical jews.. and the same goes for palistinians (and I'm sure if the genetic studies had a large enough sample size you would see this). No one is descended from a long line of Moses Jr's all getting it on with their cousins.. but jews did tend to choose Jewish partners throughout history even after exile.

Those outside of this sphere kept practicing Judaism and many ALSO have this blood, but also took in foreign blood, you can look at Ashkenazi and see it, or Morrocans, now the difference is, THEY left the land while the Palestinians / original Israelis did not, they converted to other faiths but are genetically a continious line back to David and others.

The absurdity of the question is that you have to go back 2000 years in the past to prove that the land is yours. This is totally absurd by any standards. The Jews whose ancestors lived in Palestine during the Ottoman empire (c. 1400-1924) are part of the Palestinian people, just like the Muslims and the Christians. The Jews who came from Europe to Palestine during the British mandate and created the state of Israël were in fact European settlers. Their ancestors lived in Europe for more than a 1000 years.

The Jews are indigenous to Judea in the same way white Americans are indigenous to Europe; in fact, more so, as the Americans chose to leave Europe, whereas the Jews were forced. If you’re going to say white Americans should “go back to Europe”, then you have to say more strongly that the Jews should “go back to Judea”. You can’t have it both ways. That doesn’t mean the Jews or anyone else have an exclusive right to the land. Immigration and displacement are natural events that can end in integration or civil war. Unless we want to tell everyone everywhere to get out, we have to learn to live peacefully together or not live together at all.

@@slXD100 No, it's not correct to say they are much longer and impactful than Palestinians. If you read history well, you know that they are not the first settler to this land. Before the jews or bani Israel, there are other tribes such as the Canaanites and the Philistines. Those are the real indigenous people to the land. So the people of Philistine today is from those old tribes such as the Philistines and Canaanites. So if you are saying that the jews today deserved to be in this land because they've got thousand of years history, then the people of Philistine today much more deserving to be here, because their tribes came here before the jews tribes thousand of years ago. That's the first thing, secondly how can you confirm that the jews that came here in the 1940s, they are the real jews of the old time. No one can confirm that. Thirdly, their faces and looks doesn't resembles the Semitic people, they look more Europeans than Semitic. The real Semitic people look like the Philistine people today and the Arabs. When people first see them, the first impression is that they are Europeans. So what they are doing is totally wrong, killing the indigenous people of the land, forced them out, stole their land and houses by forces. Jews left 2000 years ago and bred all over different places now the Jews have a connection obviously but so do the Palestinians. Cant deny 1600 years of a people being born and bred just as long as any jew. Palestinians are indigenous for damn sure if you consider Jews from Europe and everywhere else “indigenous”. Indigenous is to include those who never left. Jews of today are not indigenous. They don’t have the last 10 centuries of history in the land. Very few of them can prove lineage more than 70 years in Israel. Palestinians can prove 1400+ years especially the Christians.

What is indigenous? Many tribes, races, ethnicities, language groups and religions have lived in what has been variously called Palestine, Israel, Judea and Samaria, Caanan, etc throughout its long history. Before the Muslims, Christians, and Jews, there were many other groups older and arguably "more indigenous" than any of the present groups claim. The history has been turbulent, with times where diversity was sustainable, and times when groups tried to extinguish the other and achieve political or demographic dominance. One thing is certain: no group can claim a monopoly on the land as exclusively theirs... This has never been the case historically or archaeologically, and is not ethically justifiably either.

It seems that some Palestinians have a very short-term memory and a very limited knowledge of history. Jerusalem was conquered by King David around 1000 B.C and soon afterwards the Jewish Temple was built where the al-Aqsa Mosque stands today. The land was under Jewish rule for about 500 years until it was conquered by the Babylonians at 586 B.C. At 332 B.C. the land was conquered by Alexander the Great. At around 160 B.C. the Jews revolted under Judah the Maccabee and the land returned to Jewish rule until the Romans conquered it at 63 B.C. Under Roman rule, Jews were allowed to continue to live and worship at their Temple in Jerusalem. At 70 A.D. after a failed Jewish revolt the 2nd Temple was destroyed and many Jews were killed and sold to slavery but many survived and relocated to northern Israel around Tiberius. During all this time the land was always referred to as Israel or Judea. At 135 A.D. Bar Kohba led another failed revolt against the Roman empire. To punish the Jews for the revolt, the Roman Emperor Hadrian named the land "Palestine" in an attempt to erase Jewish identification with the land of Israel. Many of the Jews were killed and exiled but some always stayed behind in the land. For the next 1800 years the Holy Land was under Byzantine rule, Ottoman rule, and then British rule after WW1. In 1947 the United Nations voted on the division of the land between Arabs and Jews. The Jews accepted the offer while the Arabs refused. When the British mandate ended in 1948 Israel declared independence which resulted in 5 Arab countries attacking it but Israel prevailed and remains independent to this day. At no time in history did a race of people called “Palestinians” exist or rule the land. The term “Palestinians” was used to refer to anyone who lived in the land between 63 B.C. and 1948 whether they were Arab, Jews, Christian, or any other race or religion. This is part of history that can be easily verified by historical records and archaeology by any honest person. To deny this history is to deny reality. I find it amazing that practically every other country on earth came to terms with their borders and rulers. The United States for example, was conquered by European immigrants in the 1700’s but originally it was ruled by Native Americans and Mexicans. But today, you don’t see native Americans or Mexicans resort to terror attacks against Americans and claim their land was “occupied” by European immigrants. Rather, they accept the reality that in every war there are winners and losers and have decided to live in peace. The Palestinians can’t seem to accept the reality that Israel rules the land today and probably always will.

Aww! I'm not good at history but as you said United States conquered by Europe is a long time ago before there's the international law but Palestine story is after there's the international law. And about the war you knew or pretend to not know about the "Nakba' what Israel did to Palestine, and pretend to not know that USA, UK, fund Israel to against Palestine since the state created. Especially, you said about winners and losers in war it seems like you lived in the past or like animal's world that there's no humanity, the strong always own everything and the weak doesn't own anything. Wow! Still think like this in 2021? Peace? Should ask Israel that they love peace or ethnic cleansing. It's not correct to say the Jews have longer history and they are first settlers of the land. If you read history well, you know that they are not the first settler to this land. Before the jews or bani Israel, there are other tribes such as the Canaanites and the Philistines. Those are the real indigenous people to the land. So the people of Philistine today are from those old tribes such as the Philistines and Canaanites. Nothing can justify their actions, and it's a shameful act from Britain and UN to assist them in creation of the state of Israel by killing the Palestinians and stealing their land and houses since the 40s.

This is a tricky question, and here are some points to consider: 1- Nobody has ever in history claimed a land referring to their ancestors living there thousands of years ago, while themselves having no connection to that land for thousands of years. If you make this a rule, very few if any country may stay safe from returning to other people, and the whole countries of the world must be changed. Zionism was the cause of the war in Palestine. 4- Zionists coming in ships to Palestine, and asking for help and saying, Europeans did Holocaust against us, please take us as guest and give us refuge, and then starting to claim the land is ours.
@KnotsOfWonders
@KnotsOfWonders 8 ай бұрын
4- Zionist ask help from Palestine? The Palestinian Mufti Amin al-Husseini literally collaborated with Hitler to genocide the Jews. And the reason why Jews went back to Judea and created Israel is because many Arab Muslim countries collaborated with the Nazis to oppress them and at the end of WW2 they forced all Jews to convert to Islam or face persecution and exile from the Arab countries. The Jews were forced out of their homes with nowhere to go, so they went back to where to came from and created Israel.

As a Greek pro peace and two state solution, against Hamas and Netanyahu's government I give you counterpoints: 1- You're right in general but there many different context points: Jews though, massacred, expelled and converted, still maintained a minor presence to the same land that were connected with. Not because of natural resources but because of cultural and historical connection to the land. 2- History doesn't start were you choose but Jews created their History (language, religion, artifacts) at that specific land. This distinct ethnic group still exists today and even the more "white" ones (Ashkenazi) genetically originate from that land. 3- Palestinians (Arabs in the past) lived in the land of Palestine not for thousands of years but barely for 1500 (since the siege of Jerusalem in 636. Indeed in general Jews lived more peacefully under Arab rule but they were still dhimmis and still experienced discrimination and even massacres. The earliest concept of a national identity of Palestinians goes back to the 1834 Peasant revolt in Ottoman empire. Though there's diversity, racially they are described as predominantly Arab and religiously Muslims and, have no connection with the long extinct Philistines. 4- During the Nazi rule, after the Arab revolt 1936 the Jewish immigration was actually limited towards British Palestine and even at the early 20th century the Arab rulers were against the idea of a home for the Jews in the land of Palestine. So, it's not exactly as you describe it, though I won't argue with the fact that, since the split of the British mandate of Palestine and when Transjordan was given to Arabs, some Zionists probably wanted and planned to keep the rest of Palestine for themselves, though Arab Palestinians were living there prior to them. On the other hand after the 1948 war, the Jewish controlled land (Israel), had about 20% of Arab population that still resides there while Arab controlled land (Gaza by Egypt and West Bank by Jordan had 0 Jews left. 5- Though I'm against nationalism, in some extend is what created countries when it did, even mine. If Palestinians actually had this national identity earlier (PLO was founded in 1964) they would have established a state immediately after the 48 war when under Jordanian or Egyptian control (1948-1967). I believe that the reason it didn't happen is that their leaders supported Pan-Arabism and probably some of them were pro the elimination of Israel and the Jews. Let's be honest on this one. After all the British had promised to the Arabs a land from the Indian ocean to what today's Turkey southern border. 6- I agree that even though Israel is the only Jewish state, their right of return is unique in the world, somewhat unjust to the rest of their population and many times being exploited against the Palestinian population (settlements in the West Bank). Palestinian strip right of return to the state of Palestine is unjust, but not according to the 47 partition plan when they lost territory during the war. Is like giving the Greek refuges of 1922 the right to return to Izmir ect. Also the entitlement of refugee given to Palestinians but also their children and grandchildren and so on is also a unique concept in this world. 'Palestinians living for thousands of years...' again, apart from the known immigration of Jews (as you mention, colonialism), there was from Arabs too. Arab population in the region of Palestine: 1535 (145,000) 1800 (246,000) +70% increase in 300 years (global was +120%) 1947 (1,181,000) +400% increase 150 years (global was +250%) By basic statistics Palestine in 1947 should have around 600,000 Arabs, half of what it was. If you care about the Palestinians more than you dislike the state of Israel, better be more comprehensive on both sides. The truth was never black or white.

@@billykalia9050 I appreciate your attention and your answer. I believe you try to be just and impartial for good, however, I strongly believe you are unaware, which causes your misjudgment. I could give you a very long and comprehensive answer, proving all your points wrong. When something, like Palestinians resistance, is truthful and right, there are infinite reasons to provide. I don't want to spend time for the research, that should be done by you, if you're really interested in the truth. My suggestion: Go and read (the books of) or watch (the videos of) Jewish scholars, about Palestine and Israel, for example: - Prof. Norman Finkelstein (political scientist and activist, in politics of the Holocaust and the Israeli-Palestinian conflict) - Prof. Noam Chomsky (public intellectual in linguistics, political activism, and social criticism) - Prof. Ilan Pappé (Israeli historian and political scientist) - Dr. Gabor Maté (Canadian physician, in childhood development, trauma and potential lifelong impacts on physical and mental health) - Prof. Avi Shlaim FBA (one of Israel's "New Historians", a group of Israeli scholars who put forward critical interpretations of the history of Zionism and Israel) - Gideon Levy (Israeli journalist and author) There are many others too, that you may find out during your research for the truth. Then come back and let's have a discussion. At last, a brief answer, as a takeaway: 1- Israelites were originally from Egypt, NOT PALESTINE. Have you heard about Muses, Pharaoh, "EGYPT"?!!! 2- Israelites conquered Palestine, back then called KANAAN, through a bloody war and killing the inhabitants of Kanaan. Were their ANCESTORS from Kanaan? NO. Then why did they wage a war and killed people of Kanaan? Guess why! Yes, you're right, Israelites wanted the land, which didn't belong to them. But why? Guess what! Because That land was promised to them by their own god. Familiar story, right?!!! AND ZIONISTS' VERSION OF HISTORY BEGINS THERE. Which is WRONG. HISTORY DIDN'T BEGING THERE. THAT LAND DIDN'T BELONG TO THEM; BUT CONQUERED THROUGH WAR AND GENOCIDE. SO DON'T YOU EVER DISTORT THE HISTORY AND CLAIM THAN KANAAN (PALESTINE) belongs to the ANCESTORS of the ZIONISTS!!!!! Due to the Zionists, the history begins with their bloody conquest of Kanaan, not before, not after. THAT'S A BIG BIG LIE; AND THEREFORE WRONG. WHAT ABOUT THE RIGHT OF THE AMERICAN INDIANS; AUSTRALIAN ABORIGINES; AND ...? Their land was occupied just some hundred years ago through GENOCIDE and ETHNIC CLEANSING, by keen SUPPORTERS OF ISRAEL. What a coincidence, COLONIALISTS supporting ANOTHER BASTARD COLONIALIST, right? STOP HYPOCRISY AND DOUBLE STANDARDS in MISUSING HISTORY, LOGICS, LAW, ETHICS, HUMAN RIGHTS. And learn THE RIGHT WAY of using them! 3- Beware that your romantic love for the Jewish "History (language, religion, artifacts)" (which by the way, has nothing to do with Zionism and Israel), causes and supports the GENOCIDE, APARTHEID, AND OCCUPATION. It must not, but it does cost Palestinians lives and land. Put yourself instead of the Palestinians! Imagine that you're a Palestinian. Your ancestors, god knows, for how many hundred or thousands of years, had lived there. They haven't killed Jews. Jews were massacred by Roman Christians. Under Muslim rulers, Jews were not killed or prosecuted. They were actually brought back to Jerusalem. Muslims saved Jews (go and read the history!). Now imagine that some people, called Zionists, with the FALSE CLAIM THAT PALESTINE BELONGS TO THEIR ANCESTORS come, and kill you, your family, they ruin your house, and build their own house on you and your family's grave and ruined house. And they commit massacre, genocide, and annihilation against not only you and your family, but all people and houses of your village, city, and land. Imagine and feel all that pain with your blood and flesh! BUT THESE ZIONISTS HAVE "History (language, religion, artifacts)"!!!! Does that really convince you? I don't think so. SO DON'T YOU EVER TRY TO SIMPLIFY, JUSTIFY, AND UNDERESTIMATE THE UNBEARABLE PAIN OF GENOCIDE, APARTHEID, AND OCCUPATION against PALESTINIANS OVER MORE THAN 7 DECADES by the ZIONISTS, by talking about "History (language, religion, artifacts)"!!!!

Why couldn't Palestinians accept Jews during the British Mandate and after the Holocaust as refugees? There's a real selfishness and lack of humanity there - and it was there from the very early years of the conflict. The original motive behind Zionism - to flee rising anti-semitism was very understandable. The problem with "indigenous" nationalism is that it can create this excessive emphasis on ethnic territoriality. - one that isn't compatible with the reality that migrations are a fundamental and constant part of all human history.

True, but it's more complicated. It's not so much that the majority are not genetically Arab, but that the majority of their ancestry is not Arabian. Palestinian Christians are almost pure Levantine with some Mesopotamian ancestry. Muslims are much more mixed, but still probably derive more than 50% of their ancestry from the ancient Levant. They do, however, have a substantial amount of Arabian, Egyptian, East African (which may have entered through the former two), and Iranian ancestry.

I think the DNA argument is usually only brought up because of the accusation that most Jews have no ancestral connection to past Jews who lived in the Levant. It's not about who is closest genetically. It is the cultural affinity plus ancestral connection that purportedly supports the Jewish claim to the region. Of course, the militant ideas of many Jews that they should have special rights there is repugnant to peaceful people, and Palestinians have a strong case for their own connection to the land, if one cares about such "connections".

@@ef2718 When the Romans colonized the kingdom of israel they re-named the land "Syria Palestina" as a usual way to colonize the minds of the colonized people and purposely chose that name to mock the jews who fiercely fought them because of the connection they had to that specific land. As I was saying they chose to use the word Palestina as a mockery because it refers to the ancient enemies ofbthe jews: the people coming from the Aegean sea, the Philistines (which is, funny enough, the same pronunciation Arabs use to refer themselves as "natives"). And for more than 600 years jews were referred to as Palestinians, the inhabitants of the now occupied territories of Syria Palestina. Around the year 622 there were the first Muslim conquests where Arabs *invaded* the levant area, making it later a part of their own Empire. But once the ottoman empire was defeated and the jews that were sold as slaves by the romans all around the world wanted to come back to their country, the Arabs started to call themselves "natives" and "Palestinians" and the jews by the country their ancestors where sold as slaves to. Obviously the less violence the better, but it's pretty hypocritical for especially white people to be criticizing Israel. Are we going to leave New Zealand since the Maori beat us there by a few centuries? Are we going to leave the US because there were many nations there already? Of course not. It's our home now too. It's pointless to try to unwind decades or centuries of pain. You have to cut the losses and start fresh at some point. There's no possible way to compensate someone fully for the death of a family member killed in the fighting or perfectly return all the land that changed hands generations ago. Compensation of some form is appropriate, but it can't all be undone because we don't have time machines!

@@Nestemsvyazalsya The question wasn't whether Palestinians are indigenous to the land. The question was about the Jewish people. Neither can claim this title. Israel was an Iron Age kingdom. Middle of the road of written history. By Biblical accounts, when Abraham, and later Moses and Joshua entered the land, there were people already there. The Kingdoms of Israel and and Judah arose out of a Canaanite population, and the Torah and Old Testament are full of this military and political history as well as the people's struggle to break from the old religious practices (for example. Baal worship). The historical record bears this out as well. We can see, in the archaeological record the emergence of Ugaritic, Phoenecian and later, Hebrew. We can see the 40+ thousand years of human habitation before that. Who were the first inhabitants of the land? Who knows. The material evidence predates written history by tens of thousands of years. Watching two groups of people who came to the land over 2000 years into the historical record argue about who was there first and whether that gives them any modern right to exclusive use of the land would be laughable if it's consequences weren't so tragic.

The origins of the name "Palestine" comes from the Roman Empire, long before the Islam was even created. When Rome conquered Judea they renamed it after the Jews worse enemies - the Philistines, who are originally from modern Greece (they had nothing to do with Islam or Arabs obviously). There was never an Arab state on this land, it was always part of bigger empires and kingdoms (including Jewish kingdoms). Arabs are originally from Arabia. The so called modern "Palestinian Nation" is nothing more than a bunch of immigrants who moved here from Jordan, Egypt, Syria and Iraq out of economic (not national) needs during 1920-1930. They were never part of the same nation, and their whole settlements is based on "Hamulas" (families). El-Masri (The Egyptian), El-Urdoni (The Jordanian), Zuabi which is originally from Iraq, and the list goes on.

We Jews are indigenous to the land. Even the Ashkenazi Jews who came from Europe have 60% of middle eastern genes. The example of the Muslims in Andalucia goes against the "Palestinians". The kingdom of Israel was here long before the Muslims. Afterwards the land went through many occupations including an Arab occupation, which means that you - the Arabs are like the Arabs in Spain, are part of a conquest which must vanish. Even how you call yourself - Arabs shows that you are not indigenous as it refers to Saudi Arabia. And about the claim that we are not the same Jews, genetics shows otherwise. We were expelled from Israel and prosecuted in many of the countries we lived in, in Europe and in the Muslim countries. It shows that the people there didn't see us as Europeans or Arabs. So it leaves only one place as our homeland - Israel.

I think the deep animosity between the extremists (e.g. Likud and Hamas) on both sides, mean that if Palestine had their own state, it would inevitably result in a war. The other alternative is a one state solution. However, for this to work, Israel has to abolish discriminatory laws that favour Jews. The "problem" with the one state solution is that Jews will lose their majority, thus it will never be achieved while a nationalistic government (Netanyahu) is in power in Israel. Regardless of what happens, I think it would be a sign of good will if Israel helps rebuild infrastructure in Gaza and West Bank, so that the Palestinian civilians have electricity, clean water, medicine, etc. At the very least, I think Israel should rebuild whatever was damaged during their airstrikes. No. They just occupied it, along with Palestine and much of the Middle East and North Africa. 11:01 - This girl says that the Jews of today are not the ancient Jews, including the Jews of Yemen. She is saying the Jews of Yemen are just Arabs, and that Arabs are not indigenous. Yemen is in the Arabian Peninsula, where the Palestinian Arabs' ancestors come from. The Germanic tribes that took over what is now England left very little in the way of genes. Most English people are descendants of the Celts who were there before with a little Viking mixed in. Same with wherever the Arabs took over. The ancestors of the Moroccans are mostly from that area. Just because they speak Arabic today, it doesn’t mean their ancestors were from Arabia.

The land was called Palastine by the Romans as an insult to the Jews when they were unhomed from their land. The people who call themselves palastinian took that name under Yasser Arafat. The palastinians in Gaza are descendents of itinerent Egyptian workers who were labourers under the British who ruled the area prior to the Balfour declaration 1917 and the Sanremo conference in 1920. Proof of this is easy. The most common surname in Gaza is Al Masri. This literally means the Egyptian. Just look up Al Masri Gaza. It was British ruled land that was offered to the Jews as a homeland and the resident arabs. At the time there were just over half a million people residing in the area, both Jews and Arabs. Now there are approximately 2.5 Million residents in Gaza and about the same in the West Bank. In Israel there are nine million people twenty percent are arabs. Jews and arabs share the same schools, universities, hospitals and employment. The narative that there is an arab palastinian people streatching back into history is a fabrication. As for the Torah, don't even bother. The fact is it was land run by the British which had no intrinsic value. Which wasn't worth them administering and they gave it away. The only reason there is such a fuss is that the Jews who looked for a home in this wasteland, reclaimed the desert and made a small but thriving country. The arabs are jealous. When they moved into Gaza and the Jews moved out, they had huge farms, factories and infrastructure. They could have had peace and success and worked with their Jewish neighbours. But they chose to invest their energy, building materials and time to trying to destroy Israel.

The answer of the first gentleman is completely wrong. (I would advise him to read some history.) When the Romans expanded their empire they anexed Israel as one of his provinces. However the Jews didn't asimilate the culture and religion of the empire with its many "gods". For Israel there's always be one true God. There were various conflicts and rebellions against the Roman rulers. Two of the main conflicts were the one in the year 70 AC where the Romans destoyed Jerusalem and the Second Temple and the other in the year 134 where the Romans gathered the best of their troops even the ones stationed as far as England! Long story short, the Romans hated the Jews so much that they not only destroyed Jerusalem, but also changed its name to Aelia Capitolina, deported the Jews from their homeland, and changed the name of the land from Israel to Palestine. They also spreaded salt on the ground in order to prevent planting in its soil. That's why the land of Israel chaged its name to "Palestine." The second person, the lady who says she is Christian, believes the Bible, but when the Bible contradicts her prejudices, she chooces her prejudices over the Bible...So she doesn't believes all the Bible, even when she called hersef "Christian".

Irrelevant. For one most of them left of their own free will. Two, they did not care for the land for 1850 years. Three, Ashkenazi Jews are certainly not indigenous. Four, their forefathers stole the land from the Canaanites. Five, if they claim the land on that ground, they can also claim part of Irak and parts of Africa. Six, Jews have always been Nomads, they have no homeland or they can claim the whole world, which is ridiculous.

But Israel is not the same as Judah. Moses was not a Jew because he was not a descendant of Judah. He was a Levite. The bible itself differentiate between two kingdoms. How they use Judah and Israel interchangeably is inaccurate.

So how many Americans are indigenous? My ancestors came from Russia, so I have no right to live in the United States? In virtually every country the population has roots in other lands. It seems that only in Israel if you can't trace your dna back 5000 years, you can't live there.

Watching this, it is interesting to see how politics influence education. The Jews ARE indigenous to the land so are the Palestinians who live there, but most people seem to believe otherwise because of what they were taught. The problem is the cancel culture between the two peoples, as long as it remains there, there will never be a solution to the conflict or a will to coexist. Shame!

Palestine was never a country or state, but a word used by the Romans to refer to the region after the rebellion of the Jews in the land of the israelites and judea. In the early 2nd century CE, the term "Syria Palaestina" (literally, "Palestinian Syria") was given to a Roman province incorporating Judaea and other territories, either before or after the suppression of the Bar Kokhba revolt in 135. The ancient Romans pinned the name on the Land of Israel. In 135 CE, after stamping out the province of Judea’s second insurrection, the Romans renamed the province Syria Palaestina-that is, “Palestinian Syria.” They did so resentfully, as a punishment, to obliterate the link between the Jews (in Hebrew, Y’hudim and in Latin Judaei) and the province (the Hebrew name of which was Y’hudah). “Palaestina” referred to the Philistines (now Gaza), whose home base had been on the Mediterranean coast. The Arabs that invaded in the 7th century or the jews that converted to Islam in that period only adopted the word Palestine in recent times.

Islam started around 600 AD and Judaism started around 2000 BC so Judaism was there first but that shouldn't matter. Asking if Jews are indigenous to the land would depend upon how far you're willing to go back. Ultimately neither Jews, Christians, nor Muslims are indigenous to the land since there were people probably settled there even before 2000 BC. As time passes religions will end and others will begin yet the land will still be there. The Jews were defeated and lost the land. They got it back in 1948. Mite makes right. Just end the bloodshed and allow things to be open freely to all no matter who's in charge.

its actually not confusing at all. The English have ancestors that were in Germany and Denmark just 1,500 years ago but nobody thinks the English have a right to that land and kick out the Danes and Germans on top of that. Also, the people with the largest portion of deep ancestry from the ancient Levant are Lebanese, Samartians, and other non jewish people. Modern Jews have little ancestry from the region. As others have said, Palestinians are like the Israelites and Canaanites who stayed.
