Both translations are correct. Even in Spanish the word enemy is also mentioned. The question with "normalization" needs to be clarified. In a 2 state solution or even in a binational state should hebrew be also taught as an official language or anything Jewish will be "cleansed" because Israel exists?

Btw to make things more clear, I have a Caucasian (primarily) American mother who was raised catholic, and Palestinian Father, whos family was exiled in '48 and he was born in Kuwait. Born and raised in the south. I do speak arabic with a levantine dialect, not perfect though, I can read and write, but probably on a 3rd grade level. Would love to learn hebrew. Ancient language, Semitic and has similarities to arabic. Also, I think it would be mutually beneficial, to help us understand each other better. (Jews/Israelis, and Palestinians) To learn each others language

Great work Corey, and association with the question asked, we must remember Babylon and how the world was split by babylon. I recently found out that I am of Jewish blood in 2013 and do not understand Hebrew yet, but I am trying to learn. In addition we should have a language that we, along with our cultural cousins can speak and understand each other together.

@@secretanswer2100 they think it's like Jewish fascism , that they say Jewish people are better than others. Which is completely wrong, it's just being a patriot and recognizing Izrael as a democratic multicultural country that is governed by Jewish majority. Though there are racist groups like Lehava which see the Jewish nation as "better kind of people" but they are a marginal minority. It's like ONR in Poland. Just because we have ONR doesn't mean Poland is racist country. Though some want to see it that way.

There a big black hole if we are talking about education of the Palestinians. They mostly don’t know anything past 200 years from now. Why? The Ottomans wanted to make the population stupid. Syrians were better educated, while the Jordanians and Palestinians for centuries were marginalized to be uneducated farmers with no perspectives.

My frend, I"ll explain you the difference with Crimea situation: Crimea was recognized as Ukraine territory by all nations including Russia. But after 25 years Russia decided to join Crimea (using internal Ukraine problems). That's called occupation. In case of Israel-Palestine we have land dispute and never recognize borders of each other. Once we will have any and will decide to change them without provocation of the second side - this will be an occupation. What's going on today its similar to the following situation : Nazi Germany lost the war in 1945 until now is complaining on occupation but require all land till Volga back to Germany, all Benelux Greece and half France back to Germany and are not ready to any compromise with " occupants".

If the the So-called Palestinians learn Hebrew 📖 .They may discover that the land belongs to the Hebrew people. The Jewish people/The people of Israel ✡. So it's better for them not to.. Because they are sure that Moses, Isaac and Jacob (Israel) spoke Arabic.. lol 😆 Also, Jerusalem, Hebron, Bethlehem and of course Hallelujah are words in Hebrew. But we'd better NOT tell them. They might get angry.. 😅 SHALOM! 🇮🇱✡💪🕎

Jerusalem is aursalem in the Canaanite (palestinian) language , Bethlehem is obvious Arabic /Aramaic , Jericho in the Canaanite language means the city of the moon and it is the oldest city in the world and it is Palestinian Canaanite , all the cities were built by Palestinian Canaanites , the ancient Hebrews and philistines are also palestinian people , so what ever they built belongs to palestine . The question is who are you and who are your people , you are newcomers from all over the world that have no roots in this land , we now know that you have no Semitic blood either . So the question should be why Israel even exists , why your fake people are living here . All of the nations including the Canaanites , the Philistines , the Hebrews etc are palestinians . You are no body , you are fake and you have no culture , blood line or roots to show for why you are occupying a country that was never yours .

DIDNT YOU GUYS THE JEWS 🔯 KILL PROPHERT JOHN 🔪💀🪓🩸⚰️ PROPHET ZECHARIAH 🔪💀🪓🩸⚰️ PROPHET ELIJAH 🔪💀🪓🩸⚰️ PROPHET ISAIAH 🔪💀🪓🩸⚰️ THE TORAH 📖 Yes, the Jews did kill a prophet-- Zechariah the High Priest and Prophet: ורוח אלהים לבשה את־זכריה בן־יהוידע הכהן ויעמד מעל לעם ויאמר להם כה אמר האלהים למה אתם עברים את־מצות יהוה ולא תצליחו כי־עזבתם את־יהוה ויעזב אתכם. ויקשרו עליו וירגמהו אבן במצות המלך בחצר בית יהוה Then the spirit of God enveloped Zechariah son of Jehoiada the priest; he stood above the people and said to them, “Thus God said: Why do you transgress the commandments of the LORD when you cannot succeed? Since you have forsaken the LORD, He has forsaken you.” They conspired against him and killed him by stoning in the court of the House of the LORD, by order of the king (Chronicles 24:20-21). Yes. Jews killed many prophets. And here is a proof from 1 Kings 19 (14). Then the Lord spoke his word to him: “Elijah! Why are you here?” 10 He answered, “Lord God All-Powerful, I have always served you as well as I could. But the people of Israel have broken their agreement with you, destroyed your altars, and killed your prophets with swords. I am the only prophet left, and now they are trying to kill me, too.” TORAH 📖 Yes the idolator King Manasseh killed his grandfather, the prophet Isaiah (Yevamoth 49b). TORAH 📖 Yahya (John) - John's Cruel Death A conflict took place between John and the authorities at that time. A tyrant king, Herod Antipas, the ruler of Palestine, was in love with Salome, his brother's daughter (Ibn Kathir wrote here "Herodias," who was Herod's brother's wife, according to Matthew 14. Their daughter is known by tradition as Salome. According to Matthew 14,New Revised Standard version, Herod wanted to marry his brother', wife, but I believe Ibn Kathir's version makes more sense - Editor). He was planning to marry his beautiful niece. The marriage was encouraged by her mother and by some of the learned men of Zion, either out of fear or to gain favor with the ruler. On hearing the ruler's plan, John pronounced that such a marriage would be incestuous. He would not approve it under any circumstance, as it was against the Law of the Torah. John's pronouncement spread like wildfire. Salome was angry, for it was her ambition to rule the kingdom with her uncle. She plotted to achieve her aim. Dressing attractively, she sang and danced before her uncle. Arousing his lust, Herod embraced her, he offered to fulfill whatever she desired. At once she told him: "I would love to have the head of John, because he has defiled your honor and mine throughout the land. If you grant me this wish, I shall be very happy and will offer myself to you." Bewitched by her charm, he submitted to her monstrous request. John was executed and his head was brought to Salome. The cruel woman gloated with delight. But the death of Allah's beloved prophet was avenged. Not only she, but all the children of Israel were severely punished by invading armies which destroyed their kingdom.

Also many Bedouins even volunteer in the army, imagine how hurtful what you say is to them. THAT aside, we have friends among Palestinian Arabs, some of them do want to connect with us but just can't in their public sphere. That aside we have some friends within the Arab world in general, don't close them off. But most importantly it's the language that many of us Jews have had for millennia alongside Ladino or Haketia and Aramaic & Hebrew.... I mean even the Rambam wrote Judeo-Arabic. When the international community (League of Nation) recognized the everlasting right of Jewish nation toward entire Land of Israel, and created Jewish Palestine in 1920 from the lands occupied by Turks, it was decided that beside Hebrew which is the only native language of the Land, Arabic will be also official language, a decision that Israel still respects, 100 years latter.

Jerusalem is aursalem in the Canaanite (palestinian) language , Bethlehem is obvious Arabic /Aramaic , Jericho in the Canaanite language means the city of the moon and it is the oldest city in the world and it is Palestinian Canaanite city , Heifa means the coastal city in the old Canaanite language , Toulkarem (Beitsouqia) in the Canaanite language means the market town which is understandable even in today's Arabic , all the cities were built by Palestinian Canaanites , the ancient Hebrews , Canaanites , Aramaic and philistines are also palestinian people and their languages except for the philistines are Semitic languages that are almost the same , you can say they extinct forms of Arabic , so what ever they built belongs to palestine .

Language is created for communication. The more languages people try and learn, the harder it is for everyone to communicate with each other. It’s a self defeating purpose. Everyone should learn English as their primary language since it’s the closest thing to a type 1 civilisation language that we have.

Learning how to communicate with others makes it harder to communicate with others???? What kind of logic is this? Have you ever considered that the majority of people in the world don't speak English? How would one communicate with them in English?
@bIaZze778
@bIaZze778 6 жыл бұрын
John Smith I never said learning other languages prevents communications between peoples. I am saying the very fact that there are different languages prevents wider communication. There should be more efforts to globalise English as a primary language. However it will happen anyways as seeing how English is spreading across the world. Even though it’s not the most spoken language in the world via a primary mother tongue language. If you count the secondary, tertiary languages ,and so on, English dominates the earth. English is the language of science and other academia. Modern culture revolves around English. I can go on. English is the only language by far which meets the type 1 civilisation language criteria.

Middle Eastern Atheist I understand your point. But English is also a limited language in the complexity that its capable of conveying. Every language brings an extra. A professor in European literature once told me that French for example is the language of philosophy and many concepts from French are poorly translated in English. I am not an expert in languages but I firmly believe that every language should be promoted. I also heard that mandarin speakers have a better and simpler mental representation of numbers. Arabic like many synthetic languages (as opposed to English which is analytic) is capable of compacting a lot of information in one word or a very few. Not to mention programming languages...and the list goes on.

+Chocolate Many languages have advantages and disadvantages, however it is not controversial to say English has developed and evolved among the furthest. The advantage of people adopting English as a primary language is far more advantageous than it is disadvantageous. As people adopt English from many places around the places, characteristics of their native languages will be incorporated into English. It will continue to evolve in it's complexity. Also, the trend is unstoppable, English is inevitably going to be the lingua Franca and ultimately the mother tongue language of all peoples. The influence of the language is still increasing rapidly.

+Mark Simons, yes, the reason why Modern English is less similar to its older varieties compared with Modern Hebrew is because English has been continuously used as a vernacular, whereas Hebrew has largely had to be reconstructed. During the revival of everyday spoken Hebrew in the late 19th century, scholars relied on biblical Hebrew as a reference point, making Modern Hebrew itself more similar to it.
