Unique locations inspire me no matter how big, small, famous or infamous. Vandri lake is one such nearby getaway from the city. Being on the outskirts of Mumbai it is an easy to reach location for some rejuvenation. You will not find much about this place on internet, as it remains amongst the less explored treasures. When a friend recommended this place for our group picnic, I happily agreed without flinching.
Located in Palghar district 70kms from Mumbai this is an ideal spot for one day picnic, car drives, one day getaway, bike ride and cycling. The place is in full bloom during monsoon and a treat for the eyes to witness the magic of rains. I would highly recommend this place if you are in Mumbai.

By Rail - Saphale is the nearest railway station you can get a bus or an auto rickshaw further to Vandri Lake.
