I'm in awe of your vision and craftsmanship, not to mention your willingness to "take the time." There is something about the deliberateness of not always taking the fast lane and paying attention to what's right in front of you. It's kind cool that you left the ancient, low-tech "someone's grabbing a beer!" alarm/squeak, lol. And oh...forgot to say - on top of it all, it's truly gorgeous.

I have just spent an hour watching parts one and two, and think that it was time well spent. Not once was I not enthralled by what I was seeing because not only is the craftsmanship on display truly amazing, but the editing of the video puts most KZfaqrs to shame. This is a stunning piece of work that looks as if it has come from a Spanish castle from the outside. How I wish that my dad was still here to enjoy these videos. Sometimes though, I think that I am a masochist to watch, I always end up feeling useless as I am the world's worst with tools, a danger to all around me!

WOW !!! My late father was a master cabinet builder and I can remember being in his shop, as he puttered about, creating everything from book cases and armoires to custom cabinetry and executive desks, most of which had very few mechanical fasteners. I am 71 now and retired and those memories still give me warm, fuzzy feelings, even though he has been gone for a number of years. Watching you 'puttering about' reminded me of him. Like him, your puttering was for a reason and was strictly goal oriented. Thank you for that. Looking forward to your next project.

I have said the same as the other people commenting in the past and it was/is all true, but I really do not have the words to express myself correctly when I watch your craft. All the other channels I watch, to one degree or another usually inspire me. I am not sure if I get inspired by watching you create as I have absolutely no doubt in my mind I could not accomplish what you can. I try to learn or understand certain techniques you use and very occasionally I will think "I can do that bit" then you use 500 plus rivets taking the same care and dedication you did with the first until the last. Then, "Oh perhaps not" the reality hits. You are one of a kind please keep them coming.

Absolutely amazing. A wonderful piece of furniture that you would never guess was made from old pallets and scraps. Wow, absolutely awesome! The finished project came out so perfect and antique looking, complete with squeaky hinges and rectangular black medieval rivet looking things (is there a name for that?), it's almost hard to believe that it was all made essentially from scrap wood. You are really a master! As a newbie to woodworking in general, I just wanted to ask a question: When you put the first coat of stain on the wood, you always sanded some of it back off afterwards. I've seen a lot of people do that, is there a reason for it?
@vtbn53

It's called distressing - it makes the piece look antique (from wear and tear). For an example look up Shabby Chic (it's used in many areas besides that).

Oooooohhhhh, Goodness me......For many years I've been doing timber as hobby, (weekend warrior and pallet scavenger) and of course watching many video clips on KZfaq but finally someone that doesn't spill BS and make all that philosophy of woodworking. So simple approach, and such a beautiful and above all practical pieces of furniture far from "IKEA"-perfection (if you know what I mean)each and every single one wrapped with pleasant satisfaction .Love your work, and love how much peace you have working with timber (and as you've mentioned - junk) Keep doing a great job. Bless you

Well done and another great video. Cabinet turned out beautiful. The creaking when you open the doors gives an "antique" sound and feel to it. Looking forward to the next project and video. Take care.
