This is the zoo I grew up going to. It used to be called Dreyer Park Zoo. It may not be the biggest zoo, but it holds a special place in my heart. Thank you for this video!

I am glad to hear my tour brought back fond memories for you. I really enjoyed my visit, the layout was nice and the animals were in nice habitats. Thank You for sharing that bit about the original name of the zoo. 😊

Haven't been there since the '70's... back then, they used to have a female Elephant there named Toppy...pretty cool but she passed away there at a ripe old age.

You know Tom, there’s nothing better than getting back from my newspaper route and to see you’ve uploaded a nice lengthy tour! Will edit this comment ( probably on Saturday)! Hope you are well Tom! -------------------------- Edit: Brace yourself Tom, this is going to be a long one! Man, this Zoo does not joke around with their enclosures! Those animals are living their best lives! 18:05 How the Jaguar Fiona came to be at the Zoo, that story really touched me, freaking poacher who killed her mom when she was 2 days old though grrrr! I really enjoyed all the ducks and geese and flamingos at the beginning! I saw the signage for the American Flamingo but I didn’t see any for the Chilean Flamingo, was there not any? And was there signage for the Koala? Those Aldabra Tortoises were pretty big! But as you said they can and do get bigger, I watch a reptile channel and he has a Aldabra tortoise but he has a lot of growing to do! Random point Tom k? I’m used to seeing you with a hat on and I know they were out of hats but it’s so weird seeing that the top of your head has little hair, that caught me by surprise. Marty the white alligator is beautiful, what a stunning creature! Btw Tom 34:52 is an Argentine Black and White Tegu, watching several reptile KZfaq channels, I guess you could say I know my reptiles 😉! The alligator in here was quite big! 41:10. Ok, I’ll tell you right now Tom, when you saw him the first time around when he was in the water I was like pffffff he’s not that big but the second time around the exact words that came out of my mouth were holy sh*t! He’s big! I enjoyed all the lemurs in here! I think my favourite section was the Florida Wetlands, I don’t know what it is Tom but I like swamps and swamp dwelling animals! My grandparents used to live in the woods away from town and across the road was a small swamp, I used to spend HOURS there admiring nature and taking pictures! Every year, a pair of Canadian geese would come have goslings there ( the term for baby geese ). They had between 4-7 usually! I used to admire them for hours. That swamp Tom, I’ve had many experiences there, a stare down with a moose, eye contact with a bear, hey man, if you want details, tell me in your reply and details is what you’ll get my friend! One last thing Tom: I’m kinda curious as to what kind of music you listen to, surely on your Road trips you must listen to at least some music? Personally I listen to Rock and Heavy Metal. Awesome video Tom, looking forward to seeing your reply! Oh and also at the swamp across my grandparents house I saw a pair of Sandhill cranes which are quite rare in my province and country!

This zoo does a great job with their habitats, It's nice to see the animals have lots of space. There wasn't any signs for the Chilean Flamingos or the Koalas, I looked all over. Now you know why I always get a hat 😕 gotta protect my head. Thanks for the identification of the Tegu. I enjoyed this zoo a lot, the swampland is vital to Florida. That's a great memory you shared, nature is fascinating. I see wood storks, egrets and white ibis pretty often. Lots and Lots of seagulls too. I always enjoy your comments Noah 😁

I think you made a mistake for the Serval.... There is 4 of them. 1 is on the front (can see his body breathing move) 1 is on the back (body breathing too) and 2 are on each side sleeping with their head next to each others in middle. they are basically all together forming a ball, small kitties always sleep like this to keep each others warm :D i also think the tigers are small tigers, they look pretty young an fluffy. They dont seems to have yet the body of an adult, not juvenile, but still young :D lovely zoo, i like how the keepers doesn't mind about the sneaky iguana coming to steal food hahaha XD

Thank You for pointing out my mistake, I do sometimes miss things as I'm usually looking through the camera. South Florida has a huge population of wild iguanas. They certainly take advantage of being in a zoo setting, lots of available food to steal.

My guess is the habitat was no longer suitable for the Komodo dragon's size. Porcupine are a good addition to that zoo.

Did you know that the Palm Beach Zoo used to have Bush Dogs but not anymore because they got killed in a flood

The fact that it was human error is the worst part. Bush dog's are well suited for water, but even they couldn't survive their dens flooding.
