Why does it look so nice

I've had Samsung Note since Note 1. I've never liked small phones. Saw this at the Verizon store, immediately had to have it, bought it, and I love it. My Note 8 now literally collects dust.

Costs too much. But other than that, this phone is truly what budget phones should be. It will fill a practical niche, if it can get past the electronics world's aggressive and unnecessary tribalism.

Not enough small smartphones

Very nice review. It looks like a very simple but (too me) nice looking with it's UI and design. Even though it is quite expensive for such a small phone. Keep up the good work beau!

Make a ~4 inch high end phone like this with the least bezels possible and I know of several people who would be pretty interested

honestly.... if this had a earphone jack this wouldnt be that bad as your daily call/music driver.

Awesome in-depth look into this phone. I've been doing so much research on it but nobody seems to have a very good video covering nearly everything. I'm excited about this phone to say the least.. I think tiny phones are the future, and it'd be a lovely way to minimize phone addiction and social media use through preventative design. All we need to do is optimize existing apps to be just as usable on a credit card sized screen. This phone doesn't have to be a "companion", and I think it's a shame that it was marketed this way. I'd use this as my daily driver if i could. I'm currently working on some mockups for apps that could use this screen size as a blessing instead of a bottleneck. Hopefully I can implement them soon with flutter but I really think developers should take notice. This phone, or at least this class of phones is gonna be huge

In the UK, it's a fully-fledged phone with SIM. - now this is my daily driver. My S10e is now for sale. Steve Jobs got the format of the Smartphone right with the iPhone 4.

This would make an amazing running watch / phone. Many running watches are too small and can't play music. This would be the best compromise.

I seen this phone at the Verizon store and I was testing it for few minutes and instantly fell in love with this Palm mini. I tell you this the phone is a huge attention getter so if you don't want everyone asking to check it out don't get this phone.Lol..😂

Smart move on palms part as people begin to be jaded by phones. I suspect the pendulum will swing back towards simplicity as the average user of smart phones finally being to realize just how much of their useful attention is wasted daily.

this is a epic idea super brilliant genius, i use a separate line as a cheaper side phone to pull out when im running around instead of risking dropping my thousand dollar glass flagship phone and it has to be IOS, now verizon is charging u only 10$ for that phone line sharing, that’s brilliant, it’s good if they let u use any android phone as the companion phone, it’s no good if ur stuck just having to use the palm

I’ve been using mine as my primary phone for a month now on my main line as a stand alone device and I totally disagree with everything you said besides the battery life! Most reviews are read of the speck sheet and I believe this one is just that! If your ok with the size go buy one switch the sim from your everyday phone and give it a try for a 12 or so days, Verizon gives you 14 days to bring it back ,so it’s a win-win situation all around! Oh ya, And it runs Nova launcher! Ps :all the apps on my reg phone work just fine ! Showbox , Netflix, Facebook , Nest, Messenger, you get the point!

I dig this phone, unlike some online reviewers who conside r this device a novelty that isn't all that essential. Its price is prohibitive, though. If I could get this phone, via AT&T for example, and use it as a prepaid device I'd go for it in a heartbeat. Time will tell!

Can it run Strava?

i love the small size, i would even use it as my main phone. i even find my iphone se a bit too big. i do a lot of media consumption and testing on it and the comfort still isn’t quite there. this is perfect as all other phones under 3.5 inches are old and slow.

It's a shame they didn't do a new palm pre 3... This devices is like a oversized smart watch.

Love the idea. I’m not fond of watches at all. Hate the execution. Something around the size of an iPhone 4 would have been better. This is about the size of a credit card which is awfully small. With a little more size I’m sure they could have gotten a slightly larger battery. A headphone jack is necessary. And I think the number one thing people are going to want is a decent camera. If this is your “going out” phone, workout phone, or “weekender” phone you’re going to want a decent camera. Thirdly I would say some sort ruggedness is more important than style. Again, workout phone.

Ended up being “free” when I got my new iPhone. For my use, it fills a niche. I work construction which kills phones, and phones are so bulky now you’re one bad move from a crack. Now I leave my nice new phone in the car or home, and slap this phone in my little condom pocket in the jeans. Not a device for everybody, but great for someone who doesn’t want a nice smart watch

This is for the party guy/girl going out to clubs that doesnt have anywhere to put here giant iphone, only wants to send a text or 2 to find a friend, see how to get to a taco bell after a night out, take a quick snapchat, and wont cry when they leave it on the bathroom counter at the bar when drunk.

So you said, "buy a smaller phone" but there just isn't too many options 5" or less. Youve got a few Sony phones and that's about it

The camera quality doesnt seem to be as bad as what was said on the video. And the phone's design is very appealing. But yea I won't shell out 300 dollars for this, might as well buy a Xiaomi phone.

It would be better if it were an actual small phone. Before smartphones started becoming mainstream in 2007, phone makers were trying to make smaller phones. Now every phone is gigantic. Most people like them but there is a market for smaller phones. I don't really use my phone much for watching videos or playing games because I have a tablet for that so I'd consider a smaller phone. The problem is that most small phones you can buy today are budget units with bad specs.

No surprise this gets terrible reviews; reviewers want to spend lots of time playing with their phones. For people who don't use their phones for entertainment, this is awesome. (Yes, it should have a better battery and camera.) What I really don't get, though, is why the reviewers all say an LTE watch would be better. LTE watches have such limited functionality, even when it comes to basic things like audio playback or calling an Uber. I think the explanation is that no phone reviewer really considers an LTE watch as a phone substitute. Rather, they review the watches, say that they're awesome, and then simply note the fact that you can also get it with LTE when you want to leave your phone at home. If they really tested a micro-Android phone against an LTE watch as a part-time phone substitute, they'd be pulling their hair out with frustration at all the things they can't do on the watch.

"Buy a smaller primary phone". Riiiight. What planet are you living on? Outside of the iphone (which is a NON option), finding 5" is quite difficult, and smaller than that does not exist anymore. This thing would be perfect if it had BT and didn't need an extra $10/month. Removable battery would be nice too, as would a lower cost, but, even with those, if they added BT and let me run it as my only phone, I'd do it. In a heartbeat.
