Palm Equipment Solo Vest PFD Review

The Palm Solo Vest has been designed specially with SUP in mind and that really shows when you are wearing it on the water. The slimline nature and comfort allows your arms to be free when paddling. The Solo Vest is made from recycled materials, looks great and seems very durable and hard wearing. It features an elasticated pocket at the front for storage and is rated to 50N to suit adults and kids.
The Solo is a simple PFD that will suit all types of recreational paddling and even winging.
This is a favourite among the SUPboarder team and the Solo will be featuring in many more SUPboarder videos into the future.

Would be interested to see you review the new Red Paddle Co flotation device which is SUP specific and see you do a comparison between it and the Palm one.

Great review. Could you do a comparison of the Palm Solo Vest vs Peak Racer Pro. I know the peak doesn’t have the pocket but I’d be interested to see if one was more bulkier than the other and if one floats better than the other.

Do you think the adjustable shouder straps will not flip in the face while paddling a strong upwind?an elastic loop could solve this problem. Thank you Beau for this review. I still use a normal bulky PFD I keep under the front bungie here in Phuket. Today I just paid my new board, an HYPR Low Volume Racer 14x 26x6 in purple carbon. You might have seen it on the last videos of Ian Foo. Then after I might consider buying a waist inflatable PFD. Yesterday it was exactly one year I began SUP paddling, 1526 km done with only 88 km the first 3 months on rental boards. My Tikhine is a great board but tired to inflate and deflate 154 times since march 30 2022

Wow you have certainly done some paddling in the last year! Thanks for the comment. The shoulder straps are quite heavy duty and I wouldn't see them flipping up at you in strong winds. Nice to hear you purchased a HYPR race board. Hopefully a lot more paddling for you in 2023! Cheers, Beau
