Today we're getting out of Los Angeles and visiting one of our favorite places and mid century modern design capitals, Palm Springs, California. We're staying at one of the best places to stay in Palm Springs, the beautiful Hermann Bungalows at L'horizon Resort and Spa Hotel. We''ll take you all around the stunning hotel property and give you a room tour of out Hermann Pool View Junior Suite. We are also taking you guys to some of the best restaurants in Palm Springs like Mr, Lyons steakhouse and Workshop Kitchen as well as some of the best design shops in Palm Springs like Market Market, The Webster, The Gilded Owl, Object Culture. We'll do some shopping, go on bike rides, visit the Ingleside Estate and tour the mid century style homes. To top it all off we stop at the Desert Hills Premium Outlets in Cabazon to pick up some things from Loewe, Celine, and Ferragamo. Palm Springs is such a special place to us for so many reasons so let's get in the car and head down Palm Canyon Drive together. Hope you guys enjoy!

So maybe next time include the world class Palm Springs art museum; one of the many film festivals we have, especially the Palm Springs international film festival; the great cabaret scene; CV Rep; the many events at the Palm Springs cultural center; Indian Wells tennis tournament; the Acrisure Arena, which headlines many great pop artists; The living desert animal preserve; and many other places and events that aren't just about shopping and high-end hotels.

Totally. We only had a certain amount of days, and we wanted to focus on things we found over our years. I’m sure there are so many more things than you or I know, but we tried our best. People do places differently and that’s the beauty of it, and there is always room to learn and find more. So thank you for sharing.

Ugh! I know! I really wanted to have a moment in the pool but it became tricky with water and the equipment and then it became even more tricky with other peoples privacy! I think it would be good to rent a house next time to include pool shots! idk it was a hard thing to have to miss on our end too I promise!!

I knew the former owners of L’Horizon, as well as the lady who managed it for decades. Ask Nelda Linsk in P.S. about the history of the property. I lived in SoCal for almost 30 years and most of it in Palm Desert.

Loved your PS tour - we have a place there and look forward to moving full time in the next few years. Absolutely agree with all your recommendations - My Lyons is our personal fav ❤. I'm moving to Palm Springs in August after years and years in Chicago. Have visited dozens of times over the years. Have you guys been to Tropicale restaurant? That's one of my favorites in Palm Springs.

New subscriber here in L.A. You guys seem like so much fun. I have been going down to PS since I was 10 years old. The first hotel I ever stayed at was The Riviera, now the Margaritaville Resort. PS is such a great area, and there's so much to do there, from sightseeing and shopping to horseback riding and, of course, dining at all the great eateries. In French the letter “H” is always silent.

So the L’ links it to the next word so it would be “Lor” as in Laura or folkLore. And the letter “I” is pronounced as “EE” so the first part would be like feminine name Lori or Lorrie. (& I would assume the British term for truck Lorry)

I know what you mean, but there's definitely a segment of New Yorkers that would also fit into LA or Miami these days. Just compare the type of cast on Real Housewives of New York today versus 10 years ago. There are fewer and fewer of the old school stereotypical New Yorkers. Personally, I love the classic artsy, alternative, in-your-face New York vibe but think it's changing like everywhere.

I hate to say that too, but after a few hours in PS, we are super bored. Let's be honest, it's a very small city, really more of a retirement area. But I do like the look of that hotel they stayed at, it has a great vibe and style, and I like that marketplace they went to. Maybe we'll check that out sometime. We sometimes just drive over the mountains for the afternoon and hang out for like 5 or 6 hours, not during the summer though...
