Hey friends! In this episode of our Vanlife Australia Roadtrip through the Central Australia Outback, we visit Palm Valley in the Finke Gorge National Park. As soon as we arrived in the Red Centre we started to hear about this beautiful area, a real oasis in the desert... but we also heard about the rough road into the park. Turns out, the first 18km of the road in (which got us to the campsite) wasn't too bad, but the last 4km from the campsite to the actual gorge was really rough, so we left the van at the campsite and took the Mountain Bikes. We did a couple of hikes through the park and were absolutely blown away by the scenery. We hope you enjoy this glimpse of this beautiful area too.

Great video. Enjoying your journey. Some beautiful sights. My parents had a country music show for approx 30 years. Travelling out west. They used to fly out to the missions including Hermansberg with their show. I never got to go there so it’s great to see it now. Would have been in the mid to late 80’s. Thanks for the journey. 🤗💖

In the warmer months, you have to watch out for Western King Brown snakes amongst the palm trees trails. Saw three in space of 50 feet. 😢

Gosh I was so panicked! It kept wanting to land itself and I kept saying no. Eventually it just over-rode my commands.

Another gorgeous spot (get it, gorge-ous lol). Can't believe the height of some of those palm trees! I'm always so impressed seeing you two on your mountain bikes. My husband would be well into it, but I'm more of a flat path by the beach kind of cyclist ;-) How's the heater going?

Hi Nigel and Sue, did you make it to palm valley camp ground in your van? I'm hoping to make it there in an SUV, and then walk the rest of the way to the valley. Interested to hear your thoughts.

Yes we got to the campground and rode our bikes the rest of the way. I’m sure if you walked someone might give you a lift. It’s an awesome spot!

Great vid guyz. Like you I have saved up & bought the Bunnings $20 fly screen and about to put into my 2004 313 Sprinter. You seem to have yours on all the time. Did you trim the bottom to fit or just leave it loose? Hardly an important question but i am interested. Cheers

Hey Richard, thanks for watching! We actually replaced the Bunnings bug screens a while back, the holes are quite large and the magnets are not strong enough in a breeze. We are using screens from Living in a Bubble now.
