I took it with me on a little trip and really enjoyed using it. I forgot to mention in this video that I put the case on, too. I stand by my opinion that it's cheap and ugly, but I did feel like it was giving the device some protection.

Further update! I ended up selling it. I think it's a nifty device and I don't need or want it to be a phone, but it's not the top of my device wishlist and keeping requires love when it comes to the expense of these devices!

Got my Boox Palma 2 wks ago and I enjoy it. Because of dyslexia, I read exclusively on e readers because I can modify font and layout as I prefer narrower columns of print. This is perfect on my Palma, allowing me to get lost in the story. It’s great for reading “on the go” in comparison to my larger 6.8 in. Paperwhite. I’m in love!

Bought it and was not sure but I love it. Is it a necessary device, no but if you like e-ink and the price is not a big deal then I say go for it.

I really want one of these but I believe it needs a serious update. Its still running android 11 I believe. Can't see myself paying $280 for something that out of date.

That’s strange, the issue re: the AirPods. Did you try to turn off the Bluetooth on the Palma first, to see if your iPhone would pick up the AirPods? That’s what I do when I switch between my Kindle and my iPhone.

I am very interested in your thoughts as you use the device more. This device represents a very irrational purchase for me and I don't exactly need it, per se. I have been admiring it from afar and if they go on sale this month, I may just buy one. You mentioned that the battery was still at 70% after the weekend; did it drain noticeably while listening to music?

I keep mine in a sleeve during transport. There are screen protectors on the market now. I personally like that you can turn pages with the side buttons instead of touching the screen.

Nice video! Just one question. Does a black line appears at the very very top of your screen from edge to edge every time you turn on your Palma? On mine it appears just when I turn it on. It looks straight, and does appear to be a flaw but I'm not sure.

I, for one, don’t see this as a phone replacement. When I get the Palma, and I do plan on getting one once the budget allows, I see this as replacing my older Kobo e-reader. This form factor is much better to hold when you have a kitty who wants tummy scritches and I’d prefer to read on an e-ink screen instead of my phone screen in that situation. It really does come down to personal preference, and I do understand why so many people want this to be a phone since it’s one SIM card slot away from becoming one. I do like the idea of this device and it appeals to me.
