Come with us as we have a night out in Palmwoods, a small rural town in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland. Palmwoods is a very small town, but it's full of history and one of the few towns on the Sunshine Coast which has truly retained its Queensland country charm. But this small regional town with a population of only around 9000 has a very special place to go for dinner....we'll give you a hint....it used to be the old mechanic's workshop!

Hi, we're Beth & Paul from Brisbane, Australia and we love to travel!
Paul retired on 28th February 2020 and on the 1st March 2020, we set out on a 6-month adventure around South East Asia. This was a well-planned once-in-a-lifetime travel experience! It was our intention to show you how you can have a great time travelling without spending a fortune.
Our timing wasn't great - with the outbreak of the Covid-19 virus and subsequent global turmoil less than a month into our trip.
Until it is safe to travel internationally again, we turn our focus on travelling around Queensland and sharing everything our beautiful State has to offer!
Our videos are posted weekly 😊 (we aim for Thursdays).

Ha ha 😃 We’re so pleased you enjoyed it! We went there on Friday and we arrived a little early before it got busy, but it was perfect… we were able to sit in the booth, have dinner and then the band started…they were awesome 😎. It kind of had a Happy Days vibe…We expected Richie Cunningham and Fonzie to walk through the door ha ha ha Also, everyone knew everyone else!!! So they would walk up to each other’s tables and ask to dance…young with old, it didn’t matter ❤️ Obviously it’s a huge favourite with the locals😊 By the time we left, it was packed…the room we were in, the bar and the huge pretty beer garden. We hope you get to come over and visit one day….and we’ll happily meet you there 😉 🍷🍷🍷

Harriet and I grew up in Boston loving Diners, the food, the culture and local people. If you want to learn about a town, go to a local diner, if they have one. Palmwoods is typical of many small towns in America. Unfortunately, many of them are disappearing. Beth and Paul, you managed to find a gem in the rough. Hi Harriet and Jim, we have been to some fantastic diners in the US (a long time ago) and we loved how the waitresses would come and top up our coffee without having to ask! As you probably know, cafes are common here but retro diners are rare….and that’s what made this so special for us. You’re right about comfort food…Paul loved the burger 🍔!

Hi Beth and Paul. We were on the Sunshine Coast last week. Were there for 3 weeks. Every time we passby a white tesla we thought of you. We always pass by Palmwood on our way down from Montville winding road. Thank you for your great videos, we went as far as Stanthorpe this time, that you featured in your channel.

What an awesome channel and delightful pair you two are! I currently live just down the road from Rick's Garage and love it here. Very central to the rest of the hinterland and beyond. They have recently changed the centre of the road to parking to accommodate all the visitors (funny to see it in the background as it was just a short while back). Ricks Garage is a magnet..cheers 🙂

what a great place loved it .johns busy picking up his diner i made for him ,he eat some but pudding is hopefully not going the same place bless him .i went for a handcycle ride today about ten miles around here is very good as its hills are steep around shaftesbury in dorset uk .is there disabled access in the cafe pub as thats somthing that most people dont think of in there videos.

Thanks @Tesla Scozzies 🤗 yes! There is a QESH charger at Forest Glen only 8.5 km away and it’s 50 kw. It’s opposite the shops in Forest Glen and next to the Highway. Ricks is awesome and their burgers are well known for being huge and delicious 😋

i would like to come over soon but busy buying a new powered wheelchair quantum edge hd .i have traveled in the past to lyon in france with a wheelchair it was a great holiday camping in the rhone alps chambery
