Southern California Paleontological Society fossil trip September 10, 2016. on the Peninsula. Led by the Los Angeles Natural History Museum staff for a day of fossils (collecting and observing) at various sites around Palos Verdes Peninsula. A driving tour with three stops offering spectacular views, and discussions of the geological, fossil, and human history of the peninsula, collect Miocene and Pleistocene fossil invertebrates and vertebrates, and view prepared vertebrate fossils at the Interpretive Center. Lead by: Los Angeles County Museum of Natural History, Paleontologist Dr. Austin Hendy, paleontologist at the L.A County Museum.
