Anyone else having collision issues with the SteamCMD version of the desicated server? Falling through map/walls? Great tutorials by the way. Very easy to translate to Ubuntu Server.

A1RM4X, thanks mate, great tutorials. One thing I want to do on my server is to make some announcements for online players before restarting server using RCON broadcast command as there are massive memory leak is present right now on server - it goes to take 12G of RAM in only several hours after restart with only 2 people playing. I want to people save their progress before restart. Maybe several announcements before 30, 10, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 minutes left. After 30 second each 5 seconds and when 10 seconds left - each second. I found several examples how to make it but not in case with configured service as you did in your videos.

Watch the 3rd video. With my method the rollback is almost negligible... Also start the service at specific time for it to restart almost at the sames hours in the long run.

I'm using Debian 11 on a Google VM because it never creates /.steam it always stays /Steam

I found this video series after going about my own method using some scripts I found on github. Having a little issues with it still, I have a script that loops a memory monitor script that runs a restart script and backup script, that uses ARRCON to shutdown and send broadcasts, and a version control backup, that all works great. Issue I'm running into is how as steam user in terminal to start the server instance from a shell script? gnome-terminal and xterm say there's authorization required but missing requirements, and I can't launch server from main user or root manually. (its configured on a user called steam) I can't start it manually inline in the script since then it would hang up the rest of script from looping, so need to run it either in another terminal manually which I guess is wrong way to do it. Is there anyway to start the instance with a command that would be friendly to run within the user: steam? I am looking at doing systemd but unsure if it meets my requirements

Is there a possibility that it makes a backup of the current game status every 20 minutes and not only if the server restarts? Or does it automatically save the game state like in normal multiplayer? And can you install a command that shows a message to everyone in the game 10 minutes before the server restarts?

what are the system requirements for the server. Is the intel n100 processor suitable for this? I own a small machine with this processor, it seems to be suitable, there are 4 cores and 8 gigabytes of RAM

Has anyone found a way to monitor the server with something like Uptime-Kuma or similar? My service randomly crashed last night while I was playing. If I hadn't been on I would have had no idea. I tried using the uptime-kuma "steam game monitoring" but it's just replying "Server not found on Steam".

Thanks for the explanations in this part, now players will not have to worry that their achievements in the game will not be saved I found a useful utility that will allow you to make the latest saves before shutting down the server Maybe this will make it easier to kill the game process by ending the game correctly Hope you find something useful in this and add it to the next part of the video ARRCON (tutorial - ayd1leg775g) Palworld tech guide - Commands /Save /Shutdown {Seconds} {MessageText} /DoExit (Force stop the server)

Hey Mate. I might ask in here. I did every step for the services but for some reason its not updating to 0.1.3 from 0.1.2. Server starts and service is active but the update isnt there and we cant connect anymore :X Thanks in advance =) // Edit: Just in case of an error i ran the test for the steam folder and it worked fine. Backups are working as well, it is just not updating the server

If you installed the Palworld server with my tutorial, you just have to restart the Palworld service and it will update the server version.

Sorry if this is a dumb question, but I read something that confused me. Is this server accessible by somebody playing on windows? Wanted to use Linux because of how resource hungry windows is.

No dumb question here: this Linux hosted server is reachable by all the users owning the game whatever platform they use (Linux / Windows). The advantage of the linux server is the stability, easy setup and low consumption of resources (RAM / CPU) compared to windows.

J'ai un probleme avec le script, j'ai installé mon serveur en suivant le tuto, c"était nickel, j'ai pu joué avec des amis, cependant jai voulu mettre le backup automatique et là malheur...apres le restart du service la partie actuelle a disparu ! je dois tout recommencé en jeu :( je remet le backup mais il n'est pas bon....je ne vois pas pourquoi cela a supprimé la partie...

La video explique ce qu il y a dans le script. Si tu as suivi le tutorial sur Github tout devrait etre OK. Si ce n'est pas le cas, Il faut repartir sur une base saine et tester le backup en forcant un reboot après quelques minutes de jeu. Bonne chance l'ami!

@@A1RM4Xjustement tout fonctionne nickel sauf que j'avais pas encore mis le systeme de backup dès le début, du coup j'ai perdu ma partie après l'avoir mis en place ^^". Pas grave comme ça je redécouvre le jeu ! super tuto !
