Excellent interview. I just purchased Pamela Douglas's book Writing The Tv Drama Series from Amazon and it was well worth it! Great books.

Fantastic interview, except...head warning on pitches. I disagree with Pamela. Two shows I've created and produced sizzle reels in hopes of green lighting were stolen and subsequently launched. I had my entertainment attorney with me on the first pitch and 6 months later it aired. Ran for 7 seasons. That was in 1999. In 2012, I pitched another sizzle reel with a known Emmy producer at it was also taken and green lighted. Cancelled after one episode due to poor quality shooting and post. Both had copyrights attached and WGAW registrations. Litigation, forget about it. "Glass House" ruling has been reversed since then, but filing a law suit is a lot of energy, and time taken away from creativeness. Now, I only pitch to a couple of networks I have relationships with. I got beat up in the past and learned a lot. So close to production, it only make me want it more. Imitation is a form of flattery, but it doesn't make the car payments. Otherwise, Pamela is tops in my book.
