I LOVE my CRAYOLAS!!!! Thank you for sharing yours Pamela and others. The 150 set is pretty well put together. First off the pencils are in sleeves for those who use/store in the original packaging. Then there’s the colors, the full 120 set plus 24 skin tones and six colors previously introduced in the crayon line (4 from Colors of Kindness) is awesome. My personal fav. is Crayellow. The crux is that the hair and eyes colors included in the Colors of the World are simply renamed colors within the 120 set: Black Hair is black, Brown Hair is brown, Blonde is unmellow yellow, Red Hair is burnt sienna, Brown eyes is antique brass, Hazel Eyes is light brown, Green eyes is Jade, and Blue Eyes is turquoise. But don’t be disappointed, the new colors are gems! Four of the six colors are pastels /muted colors that extend the range of existing pastels such as palm leaf, wild blue yonder, and pale rose, to make a quite compelling range of soft hues when combined with the neutrals. None of my $$ pencil sets have quite this depth overall -- brights, pastels, neutrals, grays, skin tones, fluorescents / neon, as this set of 150. It’s quite the Crayola sampler.

I have the 150 set, I added back the few missing colors from the 120 (the eye & hair color ones in the 150 are renamed/adjusted names from the 120 as well.) Some of the new shades are from Colors of Kindness, along with 2 new shades. I have them in a 184 case & added the Metallic set, the full Colors of Kindness set (to get the ones not in 150,) and a regular Gold & Silver from a smaller set. It gives me lots of options and I love my Crayolas, all varieties of them. Thanks for all your Crayola videos, Pamela. It has helped me so very much and all your videos are full of such good information and ideas.

I had been a Crayola crayon collector and I have always loved crayolas shade range which also translates really well into their pencils. I didn't realize they had a 150 set now, once I go to walmart I will pick it up!

Crayola is a fantastic medium. Artist these days I feel buy supplies because someone said so rather then from experience. Crayola has a stigma of being for children and are cheap so they over look the hidden gem that they are when majority don’t even know how to properly work with an oil base. Crayola is soft, they blend well, have fantastic pigment and don’t break the bank. Thank you for this video and helping to end the stigma. I was fortunate enough to be around the art community throughout college and growing up around a lot of artists. Very few pulled out faber or prisma…. 😉

I LOVE the Crayola colored pencils! The colors are wonderful but the thing that REALLY sold me on them is the video you made showing them being used over the Satin Liquid Glaze coloring book pages! Game changer for me on so many levels. Thank you Pamela for helping convert a former " pencil snob" into a happy, humble Crayola lover. My wallet thanks you too 😂

I have regular Crayola sets but I really love their Colors of the world sets, they have so many neutral colors, the ones I love the most. I like drawing cartoon-like bird characters, and the Colors of the world are ideal for my birds and their environment 🙂🐦

What a well done video. You are a wealth of very important information especially for us newbies. I was actually going to buy a set of wax AND oil based pencils only because the more videos I watched the more I got confused so this video settles that. I am buying the Crayola to get my feet wet and go from there so thank you so much…..I’m off to sub to your channel.

You will love the Crayola pencils. There are so many unique colors that you won't find in other sets. It's a great place to start if you're just starting out.

I love Crayola, and so will add the 150 to get those new colors. I just ordered from Wallmart and they will be delivered later today :D I'm so glad you give Crayola some love because a lot of colorists think this brand is beneath them. This is where most of us started, and I still love my Crayolas. I have also finally made friends with Prismacolors :D Thank you, Pamela!!!

I have majority of the Crayola sets including the world's and color of kindness... I'm getting a delivery today for the shuttle at 174 pc set.🥳. Apparently I don't have enough to do (this is extreme sarcasm). I sat down with printed swatches from both sets. To the best of my figuring without having the pencils in hand yet: The 150 set seems to include the full 120 plus the full colors of the world set. As far as I can tell, the 8 colors that are shown as the part of the Colors of the World set work like this: Black = Black Hair, Brown = Brown Hair, Unmellow Yellow = Blonde hair (which, in my mind is...a decision LOL), Burnt Sienna = Red Hair, Antique Brass = Brown Eyes, Light Brown = Hazel Eyes (I might have the two preceeding mixed up, I'm working from the color swatches), Jade Green = Green Eyes, and Turquoise = Blue eyes. At least, those are the colors that aren't listed on the set and seem to be close equivalents to what is shown on my cruddy printed off swatches. Other than the one set of mixed color pencils and the small set of metallics, the 150 set seems to include every basic Crayola that is currently produced. I don't particularly like the renamed colors, but that's my own small quibble. The couple of new colors make up for it. Maybe I'll spring for a larger case and just keep the old ones in and the new renamed ones in with the colors set, so I don't confuse my poor, small, addled brain. EDIT: And now I see Marjorie did it before me and came to the same conclusion. Welp. LOL

great video, 😄 i have all 3 sets and they are all great for colouring its just that for creating artwork theres a major difference. I'd recommend any of the 3 based on budget, crayola is a great way to begin.

I just received my new 150 set with the skin colors, eye colors etc. This set is a Wal-Mart only set. It took 3 attempts for mine to finally get to me. What a pain but happy I finally got them. I was surprised to find it specific to Wal-Mart only. I am going to try them out this pm.

I feel I get more creative with them at this point in my journey. I find myself a bit nervous using the prismacolors I guess from them being a bit pricier and not wanting to waste them. One thing I wished they would do is make the names easier to read on the pencils.

The new colors they mention are 6 of the 12 Colors of Kindness, but renamed. So i guess they are only adding 6 of the 12 pack permanently to the line. However not sure if the hair and eye colors are new, i bought the 24 pack of colors of the world didnt realize there was a 32 pack of pencils. They did release the hair and eyes in the 32 crayon set. My favorite crayola color is outer space, it is the perfect shadow color.

I read somewhere that it was the metallic copper and metallic bronze, gold, silver hazel and metallic blue that were removed from the 120 set... i havent bought either set but definitely interested to get them if i can 😄

I don’t have the 120 set (just the 150 set) but I’m fairly certain none of the colors are missing … they just renamed some of the colors as eye & hair colors.

I assumed the eye and hair colors are part of the Colors of the World. That's how they have it on the back of the box where the swatches are. I'm going to look into it some more. Thanks!

I did a bunch of research into the set when I first saw it available. The new colors in the colors of the world set are just the black, brown, and other colors from the 120 set renamed. The only real difference in the 150 set is the 6 new colors. And if you already have the 120 set you just need to buy the colors of kindness and the other new specialty set to get those 6 new colors.

I was just in Walmart, had the 150 set in my hand and was looking at the new colors thinking they looked like the colors I saw on the swatches a while ago from the Kindness set. I went all through Walmart looking to see if they had any Colors of Kindness sets and they only had the crayons which I already have. I would guess it doesn't make sense to get the 150 set for me. I am going to be looking for the Colors of Kindness set though.

I purchased the new set of the twistable bold and bright pencils today at Walmart and just finished a first little swatch test. I love them! They will be great to take with me for my planner. They really do hold up on dark paper. Maybe not to the level of Prismacolor, but Prismacolor are a little too fragile for banging around in my bag. Even the yellow actually looks yellow and not green on budget black mixed media paper. Can't wait to play with them some more. The white is meh on black paper, but didn't expect a lot (no different than their standard white pencil). There's no black in the set as it's intended to be used on colored paper. The other twistable sets have black.

Oh dammit...I should NOT be spending money and I am frantically trying to downsize. But I just bought two sets of the 150 because I can't resist new colors. And I love my stupid cheap crayolas. I still say the only thing hard enough to sharpen a crayola is another crayola though. ETA: Still hoping for that color family chart for Crayolas as well! Though I must admit the sets I grab for most with Crayolas are what I call my chaos set--a set of 100 + the neons, thrown into a random pencil case. ETA again: I should have watched the whole video first, YAY for the upcoming Crayola chart!

Thank you for this interesting video! Here we mostly know Crayola for their crayons (kids), and their markers saved me when l started art therapy (l can't do anything good with Stabilos pen 68/88 🙄). But l didn't know about their colored pencils. I'm slowly learning to use cp's, from cheap ones like Faber Castell's Dark Edition, to more expensive like Polychromos (only the 60 pieces box,which was on sale recently). And yes, some work better than others depending on the paper. I love the smooth, tender ones, l see the Crayola's have lots of beautiful and rare colors, but can you tell me if they're hard or rather soft ? I checked on Amazon and of course there are opposite reviews as always 😉 Thanks for helping 💕

I just got the 120 set but am having a problem because the color lead does not match the out side. Any sugestions on how to mark them? If the color on the outside matched the swatch it would really help. The lead does not have to be the same color just the out side. Once I find a soulation for this problem I know I will love them. Your tutorial sold me on them. I need help!

Ann, why not trying to color a long swatch the width of a piece of transparent tape, then wrap the tape around the end of the pencil like a cigar band and tape that down? Maybe that'd help?

I got my boxes today! Quick warning...the boxes are not very sturdy. Be careful or you might be making a little extra work for yourself. I won't have time to swatch for a bit, so I taped mine shut with packing tape. The bottoms were already half torn open!

People polychromos are not for colouring! If you like to color go with the crayola, if you want to do a artistic piece use polychromos which are lightfast! Or go for luminance, I would never use crayola for a art piece
