Beautiful plane and airline Pan Am was.. My granny was a flight attendant with them from 1959 to 1989. She would speak for hours about all the many places she went and people she would meet, from movie stars, politicians etc. Awesome video

I worked for Pan Am in 1987 until they closed down in December 4 1991 I was a flight attendant and I loved flying on the 747 I recently retired from American Airways after 36 years of flying it was the greatest job I’ve ever had an the only job I had right out of high school

Pan Am sure makes the Boeing 747-100 look great with that period livery. It really is a pleasure to see it as such and to see this video as well.

Debut of these was like a dawn. I was just starting to issue tickets then and everybody plus me wanted to fly on one. Imagine what the guys in Orly tower thought...looking down on that.

That is real insight, to imagine the vibes they got when that thing showed up at their doorstep..I'd pat dearly to hear their 'comments' - in every tower's 1st sighting!

I flew on this plane ✈️ in January 1986 when I was hired by Pan Am it’s so sad what happened to that plane ✈️ after 1992 it should have been put in a museum

The most iconic member of Pan Am's fleet at one of Pan Am's most popular destinations!! Part of N747PA still survives in a Korean church from what I've heard.

What a beautiful aircraft. This one should have been restored and preserved to the condition she was in this film. Shame that she ended up as an abandoned restaurant in Korea.

I believe it was but I think Clipper Constitution which did the London inaugural may have don't this as well, but I doubt that. I'll check it out.

@@Starboard76 we all know that PA002 started on january 21th 1970 on the JFK LHR route but we have never known when was the JFK ORY exactly started. On the March 1970 PA Timetable book flight PA114 JFK ORY FCO is already announced as a regular scheduled flight on a 747.
