Man, I feel so bad for those fairies. They tried to help Ophelia and she basically got them both killed in an incredibly gruesome way because A) she ignored the warning about not taking the food and B) she didn't bother to listen to them when they were trying to warn her the Pale Man was waking up. The first you can kind of understand because she'd gone a full day without food, but the second really has no excuse

she just didn't trust the fairies after showing her the wrong door to open. she also didn't trust them because Mercedes' words got into her brain, Mercedes said her mother told her not to trust a faun. And I think this movie is about how we shouldn't obey everything without question. Questioning the task the faun's gave to her saved and sent her to her kingdom as she should.

They even tried to stop her and she shews them away. One of those slightly annoying movie moments that is kind of unrealistic. If you saw that thing at the table, you'd get the f*ck outta there without even thinking about the food

At 2:07 They skip an important frame. In the skipped frame, you get to learn more about the Pale Man, as he has a mural on his wall- with vivid depictions of him killing and eating children, that looks like it dates back to medieval times.

Poor little fairies. The blue one only got caught because it tried rescuing the pink one. The blue and pink fairies were also the ones that were with the Fawn the entire time, so they were probably inseparable. The fairy that got away was the one Ofelia first found, and also the first fairy to protect her from this demon, charging first, encouraging the pink one, and the blue one to follow.

I saw this movie when I was a kid and while it was disturbing it still amazed me how rich the world was (I always had a very vivid and broad imagination) so all the fantasy stuff blew me away and was a treat to see but yeah I was a bit traumatized by this scene, thx mom for deciding to show this to me at the age of 12 :D

What I never understood is why , when she’s holding the plate with Pale man’s eyes 1:59, she didn’t think to throw them on the floor and squish them, thereby depriving him of sight forever and allowing her to quite literally rob him blind of his banquet, plus both fairies would survive the whole thing.

I loved this film I had to analyse it for my Film class I remember writing, for this scene, that it’s a direct contrast between the Pale Man and Capital Vidal’s banquet scene and how both protagonists are sat at the head of the table with a fireplace behind them

I see references to greek mytology in this movie, The faun is actually Pan, his fairies, and most of all,in this scene Ofelia almost ends Up devoured by an ogre for eating something during she's there, i think this could be related to Hades's underworld where you'll stay there forever for eating something

@@FrankReynolds182is easy for us to critize Ophelia for disobeying the instructions However if we do a little research from the historic time when the movie takes place, we understand better what Ophelia did. You see, this takes place at the end of the Spanish civil war, and things like food were few. Most likely Ophelia didn't ate a single fruit before arriving to camp
