THIS VIDEO LITERALLY SAVED ME, I COULDN'T FOR THE LIFE OF ME FIGURE OUT WHY THE SHUTTER OPTIONS AND LONG EXPOSURE WASN'T AVAILABLE TO ME, THANK YOU SO MUCH. I literally went through all the videos about G9 on youtube and none of them were talking about this.

Thank you for this great video. My GX85 went bad under an extended warranty after two years of use. Beyond repair so I am getting a full refund and putting it towards the G9 with kit lens. Adding a 5-year warranty this time. Thank you, Adorama.

I found this useful, I bought a G9 a week ago. I think you could have mentioned how the intelligent ISO blocks program shift. Took me a while to find that out. Also, silent mode and super high speed burst are electronic shutter, as are the 30fps/60fps 6k photo mode.

Great value for professional features. B&H and Amazon $1600 with the 12-60 F2.8-4.0

B&H is more reliable than Amazon with camera purchases, or even a local camera store if you have one. But yes! It’s an amazing value right now!

I have heard that from a couple people who bought the G9, but every camera fits different for each person. It may be something you adjust to, or it may effect your comfort in using the camera and you may want to consider a different model.

Great video, clear and very helpful. I have just got my G9 after a great deal of deliberation. Using it with the Olympus M. Zuiko 73-300mm for wildlife, the decision for the lens was based on price and weight. But the in camera option for the Ex Tel Conv function was the deal breaker as it extends the 35mm equivalent focal length to 820mm. A bit more information of the custom and save settings would be helpful. Thanks.

Nice little walk-through, but I think you may be mistaken about what the 6k photo mode is for. I don't believe it is for 60 fps shutter speed but rather for 6k resolution. I also heard there is a clever way to make 6k video with this camera, it may be related to this 6k mode on the dial.
@Shutterbug1014 жыл бұрын
According to my Panasonic Representatives, the 4K/6K modes allow you to pick either 30fps at the 6K resolution OR 60 fps at 8mb frames, while the 4K shooting limits you to 30fps. I should have said the 6K can get you up to 60fps not that that is what it’s sole purpose is. So thank you for bringing that up!

Not everybody know this: in silent mode, the flash will not flash (in G7 as well as in G9, probably in every other Pana).

This is correct in a lot of models that feature the silent mode. Thank you for sharing!

Question, in manual mode on my em5 mark 3 the exposure bars go left and right showing if you are exposed properly or not. But on the G9 it stays on zero, can you tell me if I'm missing a setting that I need to change?
@Shutterbug1012 жыл бұрын
The G9 Does not show exposure in that way, rather than an accurate depiction of the result.

Does this camera have linear manual focusing like the lumix s5 ?
@Shutterbug1013 жыл бұрын
That is all determined by the lens, not the camera

hi, I somehow can not see exposure compensation when I check info for any photograph that I took. I wonder if there is something wrong with the camera or rather with me. thank you.
@Shutterbug1013 жыл бұрын
No worries! Exposure compensation is a tool you use before you take the photo, and is found by using the exposure compensation button or quick menu to make the scene a bit brighter or darker before the shot is taken. Let me know if you have any other questions!

Wow, just found this vid & you!! Thank you. I went from a 2010 Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ35 (Bridge) in 2010 to the 2017 G9 in 2020 and it's just been overwhelming and intimidating. I sincerely appreciate the time you put into the creation of this most helpful video. People and concerts are not my genre, so i need some help if you can. Of the lenses listed below, flash & tripod not allowed, what do you recommend for a seated musician, lit by spotlights (white, then blue between the white & crowd), small venue, very dark, i will probably be in the back 30-40 feet away, maybe closer if i can get better tickets ... H-FS12060, H-FSA14140, H-HS043K? Other inexpensive recommendations? Other tips or links? Thanks again!! ☮️💟🎻🎵

Hi there! Sorry it has taken me so long to get to you! I would recommend out of those 3, first the 42.5, then the 12-60, avoid the other one, but your real winner would be if you could get the 35-100mm. Hope this helps!

Thank you walking through the G9. Can you tell me how to set the main menu button so it starts with the camera image? When I hit menu button it automatically goes to My Menu instead of the camera. Is there a way I can arrange the functions?
@Shutterbug1014 жыл бұрын
In my experience with Panasonic cameras, when you hit the menu button, it should remember what menu tab you were previously on and go straight there. Try going to the shooting menu and highlighting an option there. Then hit your shutter button half way to exit. Hit menu again, and it should be where you left it. If it automatically takes you to My Menu instead, I would reset the settings in the wrench icon and see if that fixes the issue. Let me know if that helps!

Do you prefer this or the EM1 Mark III and why ? Thanks a lot, great test :)
@Shutterbug1013 жыл бұрын
I prefer the G9 for the video being a priority but the Olympus if the photo quality is a priority. The layout of the Panasonic is easier for me to use in my opinion, but that is all preference.

Thank you for this video. I just got the G9 for Christmas and this really helped. Can you tell me if the G9 has a Panorama setting or mode or do I need to shot multiple, overlapping photos and stitch them together in PS?
@Shutterbug1014 жыл бұрын
Hello Sharon! You got a good one, that is for sure! This camera has a very professional build so it does not feature preset scene modes and modes like panorama. So you will need to take multiple shots (go wide for cropping!) and stitch them together in Photoshop. Let me know if you have any other questions!
@sharonblais11114 жыл бұрын
@@Shutterbug101 Thank you. I usually do that anyway because they just seem to come out nicer that way and with a larger file size so I can print them larger but I sure liked some of those preset scene modes. I didn't really realize how much I used them until I got the G9 and they aren't there. LOL
@Shutterbug1014 жыл бұрын
@@sharonblais1111 It is definitely a good move to the G9 if you have ever been dependent on those presets, it gets you out of your comfort zone and forces you to learn how to get the most out of your images! If you need help navigating your P, A, or S modes and when you would use them, check out my Tips and Tricks playlist! I know you will have a blast with this model!

Just curious, why you started the video with pictures and videos from this dark and destroyed buildings? I mean low light is one of the few weaknesses of that camera so it was not a good avertisment, I was almost closing the video, but decided to give it more time and then it was very useful. But at first I was like: - hmm creepy ... ;)
@Shutterbug1013 жыл бұрын
That is a great question haha! I like to push the boundaries of what cameras can do, for this camera I wanted to see how it would do in low light knowing it’s sensor size has it at a disadvantage. Overall, I feel it did fairly well but wouldn’t buy the G9 specifically for night photography. As for the creepy abandoned building, some people like to photograph flowers or animals, which I share in that passion as well, however abandoned buildings have always intrigued me. The history and how it may have been used in its prime, lively days. I am actually working on a book with abandoned sites and what was left behind. This site once was an air base for the army decades ago and that tower still remains alongside an obstacle course. Some may find it creepy but I am fascinated knowing that at one time, there were young troops in training using the facility and now it has been left behind and forgotten. Thank you for giving my video a chance!

@@Shutterbug101 Yes, it made me curious :) . I love details, and I am looking for what others did not said, because today I bought G9, but yesterday I made the appointment to test it today. So I was wondering who might give me somewhat different perspective. To be honest for me it is not creepy, because I am fine with the dark. I think one of those rooms where used for controling transformation of electric power, but it is just my guess because I have seen one similar here. Well sure, it is curious to know an interesting person, so why not, you seem to unusual and interesting so, thank you for giving me information as well as some personal flavour :) .
