The CX350 is a great camera. One of the best all round cameras Panasonic have ever made in my opinion.

You're right. Its a 180 with upgraded LCD and streaming ability so unsure if worth me getting one. I was more interested in it having a global shutter...but I've only had one comment on another vid stating that.

Interesting! I love the XF605. Definitely the camcorder I would pick up right now myself given the choice.

Good choice, I am long time Sony user so I am little bit biased. But I would not recommend going with z280 at this point, unless your are already in SxS ecosystem . Firstly camera is quite old already. I would expect new model come out relatively soon. Secondly SxS is really legacy standard at this point. I think (and hope) next generation of camcorders will go with CExpress. That being said Z280 is still a beast. Good for nearly any work, but so is XF605. My general advice to anyone is: Stick to one brand. Cameras are usually easier to match. Not to mention stuff like batteries, power bricks etc. etc.

the canon 605 is nice, plus the sensor in that 280 is really small. Also don't overlook the used market these days. I buy my cameras used and the money I save lets me buy tripods and lights from places like pro av. ;)

Me too. I would buy X2.. and sell X1. There is too CX350

Yep, this LCD in X1 is dramatic. Good to know that the newer one has improved piece of LCD. And AF face detection is exciting - I wonder how it works in action. X1 AF is quite poor so hopefully the new one is better. And HEVC recording will be definitely helpfull at some situations. I already have HC-X2000 so I imagine HC-X2 as bigger version of it with bigger sensor, which is fairly good.

Yes, that's why you set it to f/4.5 and then it doesn't change. Every camcorder works like that.

Hi Geoff I have both the x2000 and x1 and they are both workhorses. The zoom on these cameras is fantastic. Having 10 bit is a big difference in low light and capturing more detail on the x2000. The image quality is far superior on the 2000 but with the right light, I still get fantastic results with the x1. The menu system is slightly different on both of them, but not far off just settings in different places. With the 2000 I find it hard work using the controls, with it being such a small scale to the x1 it can be hard work using the manual controls in comparison to the x1. Having 3 rings to control more of the camera on the x1 is great. If I was to get a camera now, I would get the x2 that is out now, as you are going to get much better image quality and still have all the fantastic controls of 3 rings and a 1 inch sensor.

Definitelly X2000 when You shoot outside. Better quality and colors. When inside, go to HC-X1. I have X1 and CX10

Just found out face detection autofocus only works in all auto mode on the HC-X2, making it worthless. The CX350 allows the use of it in manual mode (with a few restrictions, but they aren't dealbreakers). It's a shame they gimped the X2 in this manner.

Nope, you must be in full auto mode to use face detect/tracking, which sucks.

Panasonic released an update. Now the face detection works in manual mode. Touching the sceen turns the face detection in object tracking. And it also has peaking in auto focus mode so you can clearly see where it focuses.

@@daltonrandall4348 Agree x15 is shorter than ideal. We film alot of sport and the x30 Advanced zoom in HD is pretty good in favorable light. The 605 really is a lovely camcorder to use. Excellent build quality. As they say there is no perfect camera.

I would say definitely yes. Both new Panasonic models (HC-X2 and X20) are basically a rehoused CX350 with newer Firmware, new Processing and in general upgraded internals. And as the CX350 had and still has one of the best oversampled images on the market (way more details and way less prone to moiré than other cameras), I would say again - Yes. The are also one of the few camcorders with 4K60 and 10bit on the market. Si uf you can go for the cheaper HC-X20 for example, then go for it I would say ^^.
