I really love this series bcz of how simple and real it is. Nothing over dramatized . No unnecessary violence and abusive language. Not that I mind those but now a days literally all the series are either super dark gangster stuff or typical high class romance that only exist in rich people's life. So getting a laid back series on village lifestyle was a good breather. Great reaction

Panchayat is the like a "constituency", and under a "panchayat" there could be 1 big village or 2-3 small villages combined too , In india we have ground level decentralisation and local governance , where "Panchayats" are further divided in "Wards" , and during panchayati elections , people vote to choose their "Ward's elected Member", "their Village Pradhan/ Their Mukhiya (another terminology for head of village) " & "Up-pradhan" (it's like vice - pradhan) ......its democracy at the lowest ground level possible 😇

"Panchayat" is like a council or government body for the village phulera and "Sachiv" is like the secretary of the council ...."pradhan" is like the head of panchayat. ...this show will show you the complicated problems processes and situations in country side or village areas...

I don't think villages are like this nowdays too . I myself from a rural area and my village have everything .and it's beautiful too , surrounded with lots of nature river fields and a little forest with many animals. I love village life even tho I go to City for my college everyday.

Usually, the word 'Panchayat' is used as it is. For a meaning, you could translate is as “Village Council of the Five” or simply “Council of the Five.”

Trust me, you both would fall in love with this series, each and every character. One of the best web series ever produced in India. ❤

Panchayat can be called as a “Village council of the five” or Council of the five top brasses. In ancient times villages used to follow this system of Panchayat (which still continues with limited powers), 5 top elders of the village formed the Village Council, to decide for the good of entire village. They were also responsible for resolving discrepancies. 5 is an odd number so, after counselling the villagers, the Panch or the five would vote in favor or against a certain issue and whatever the result was decided every villager had to abide by it, with an odd number a decision can always be reached. More like a village court with 5 jury members. The head of the jury is called a Sar-Panch, Sar being Hindi for head.

Panch means 5 and Aayat means a conference. A conference of 5 is what essentially panchayat stands for. Conventionally it is a village council that used to resolve the local issues of an area, mainly country side, in India. Elected by the ppl, comprised of the local ppl and work for the ppl. The panch practice may still be running in some areas yet it is not very popular due to the prejudice towards certain old backward ways of living…
