At about 32:00 I thought "Wow, this game looks easy. They're gonna walk away with this." Then 33:00 hits...game over...they lose. I gotta play this game!

Haha! Yes, Pandemic is brutal. Just when you think everything is going smoothly all hell breaks loose and you are on the back foot trying to keep things under control. Especially on the hard level you really need to stay on top of your game and when things are looking quiet make sure you are making progress because one epidemic can change everything! It's tough, but a lot of fun!

We barely won once on pandemic on 3 players with my cousin. But only 4 epidemic cards are used. I don't know if I and my cousin will win if we used 6 epidemic cards. Men this game is so fun and so hard. Very mind-blowing.

Hi guys, really enjoyed your playthrough. I got pandemic a few weeks ago but haven’t got round to playing it. Your tips have given me the encouragement to give it a go. Hi Glenn! We're delighted that you enjoyed the playthrough. Pandemic is a lot of fun, though it can be difficult to win! I am sure you and your wife will enjoy it. Please let us know how you get on. Board gaming is a very nice hobby, and especially with the current situation with the coronavirus, it can make staying at home much more enjoyable. Carcassonne is a really nice gateway game, and I also recommend Azul and Splendor. We have a video of Azul, and Marvel Splendor which is more or less the same as the original Splendor just with a Marvel theme. My hubs and I love this game but have never won and we only play with 4 epidemic cards! Somehow the black cubes always get us in the end. I agree about the quiet night card...too early. Great job with the cures. You were brave to have six epidemic cards haha.

@D Jackson Pandemic really is a great game. Even losing it you can have a lot of fun, but it certainly is difficult! You really have to be on your toes, especially with 6 epidemic cards. It means that even early on you need to be careful not to waste any moves, and you should always try to be a step ahead - though the game will almost certainly catch up! Sometimes there is just nothing you can do due to luck - if your first card to draw is an Epidemic and you already have a triangle of cities with 3 cubes, then it's impossible to stop the spread, but most of the time there is a way. Just remember, no matter how the board looks now, you're never safe! haha Good luck to you and your husband... I'm sure you will beat it soon! :)

@@AllAboardBoardgames We just ‘succeeded’, though I forgot to travel to a research station to cure the final disease 🦠 so we might have lost really. We had the Researcher and the Quarantine Specialist. Thanks again for your help!

This was a great playthrough, the music made it really tense! I just picked this up at a charity shop in mint condition with all its parts for 8 quid! Looking forward to having a go.

We have a Pandemic Legacy series too that you might like, though it does have spoilers so if you are planning on buying it then you shouldn't watch it...

Hopefully our video can help you and also there is a round reference on the bottom right hand corner of the board that you can follow for the flow of the game, as well as some reference cards that tell you what you can do for your actions. 25:40 I think taking the 3 cubes off Ho Chi Min city only required 1 action (not 3) since you had already cured that disease.

Hi Cyrano. Yes, when the disease is cured it only takes 1 action. At 25:40 Glai moves to Ho Chi Minh for 1 action, then removes 2 red cubes for her second action, then moves to Jakarta for her third and for her fourth action she takes the 3 cubes off Jakarta.

Thank you so much for this great video! I was so excited to play this game, but the instructions are terrible... My mom quit before we even played. Set up the board and then she was like, no, F this, it makes no sense and I don't see the point. I am an English Lit major with emphasis in tech-writing, and I must say, the amount of money I paid for this game does not correspond to the amount of effort put into these lousy instructions. It really sucks because, I have no one else to play with but her, and she will never try it again. At least I know how to play now! Thanks again!

@zachtology mr Sorry to hear that you had problems with the instructions for Pandemic. I hope you can convince your mom to try the game out now that you know how to play it. If not, at least Pandemic is a cooperative game, so it actually works quite well solo. Just take 2 characters and see how it goes. Maybe after playing a couple of times on your own, you might be able to teach it to your mom and get her to give it a go. Thanks a lot for your comment. I think you played very competently. There wasn't much you could have done differently. It's sometimes easy to forget that the board can look like it's game over any second and you can still win if you cure that fourth disease.

Thanks SIrbrastias. Yeah, Pandemic can creep up on you and things can suddenly look very different. As Ričardas said, maybe we played One Quiet Night too early but even still we might not have been able to prevent the Outbreaks from overrunning. If we could have survived just 2 more rounds we might have beaten it...

are you sure you can play a event at the end of you're turn? seems a litle wierd that yo ucan play events at the end of the turn

Hi King Pietro. Yes, events can be played at any time, even if it is not your turn. The only time you cannot play an event is between drawing and resolving an Epidemic Card.

Hi Efrain! Yeah, Pandemic certainly is not easy. We have beaten it a few times on the hardest level, but you have to be very careful right from the start not to waste any actions. Even when things seem safe Pandemic can change very quickly! Still, even when we lose the game we always have fun, which is the main thing! Thanks for your comment!

Hi. Once you cure a disease do you ignore that colour during infections or epidemic. Or do you need to eradicate that colour before you can ignore?

Hello cleft turnip! When you cure a disease, you still put out cubes when there is an infection or epidemic. If you eradicate that colour, then that colour cube will be ignored when you draw its cards from the infection deck. Hope this helps!

I think you have played One Quiet Night too early. 2 red cards were already in the discard pile so only 2 reds were somewhere on top of the deck. I have only played pandemic on normal difficulty but it is still challenging.

I think you are right Ričardas. We definitely could have waited until the situation was a bit more dangerous. Yes, true that Pandemic is definitely difficult at any level. Hardcore leaves very little room for error, but it is still a very enjoyable trying to keep things under control!
