I drive a 03 Hyundai Elantra. My wife drives a 2013 Hyundai. We have bought several cars for our children. We haven't had a car payment since 1987. We pay cash from savings for our cars, home remodels and updates, vacations. You have to save and live a lifestyle that lets you save at least 10% of your income. Never buy anything you can't pay cash for except your home and never let your mortgage and escrow exceed 25% of your take-home pay. Good Luck everyone and save money.

"never let your mortgage and escrow exceed 25% of your take-home pay" might not be possible for some cities, and expensive mortgage can still be better than renting. But 100% right about living within your means and people should really save more than 10% if getting paid more than the minimum wage.

The reason why Mexican border cities are experiencing growing numbers of coronavirus cased is because people from the US flooded Mexican markets and pharmacies with panic shoppers who didn't give a damn about social distancing. @@feto123feto123 Same thing is happening here, and I live in a farming county near Sacramento, CA. My read on this is Mexicans do not have the same awareness of hygiene and protecting one's self from germs and infection that other cultures do. They're not social distancing here either and it's creepy. I feel bad for them, many Latino communities (migrants, immigrants) all over the U.S. have the highest infection rates of any people group. It's really sad, but this has been going on for a long time. I used to work in food service, and observed a lot of Mexicans who didn't practice proper hygiene when serving food, didn't wash their hands, put their hands on clean plates and glasses after bussing dirty dishes and silverware, etc. And would stick their hands inside the rims of dirty glasses, then go on to handle more clean dishes and do place settings. Just a fact and not a "race thing." They need education.

Ein Stein Most people in my community (Mexican & Filipino) follow the protocols and there are no problems here. The reason you are seeing higher cases in these communities is because a majority are highly exposed to the virus as sanitation workers, caretakers, medical assistants, food service workers, janitors and grocery store workers and transportation and food factory workers. They don't have the luxury of staying at home telecommuting. Meanwhile, there have been thousands of White Americans protesting at beaches, crowding beaches and parks and not practicing social distancing. You conveniently ignored that. The issues here is many people do not save any money and also know one has payed any attention for the last 10 years as the states and government has told people to have and keep food water medial supply ect in case of a distaste . Guess what 90 % have ignored the warning and it has fell on deaf ears and they are NOT prepared for such things and next time they will not be prepared either . So hope some of you idiots are reading this and knowing in your minds you are one of these people. I exclude the poor who could not afford it but that's not who we are seeing in the free food lines for the most part .

I don't smoke, because I don't approve of something that would destroy *my* lung tissue. I drink through the holiday season, so I'm looking forward to October already, bc I won't buy anything alcoholic before then. It gives me something special to look forward to around my birthday (November). I don't fool with illicit drugs because the crap is dangerous in many ways, but then I've had a solid upbringing to help me make wise decisions about such things. I wasn't born with wisdom.

Sahuaron that’s why I’m proud of being Mexican we are not selfish like many Americans who have the “I’m on my own mentality” or helping people and giving free stuff is communism or they are lazy. Mexicans we help each other out during a crisis. We give away food to our communities and make sure we are safe and not stay hungry.

Handy Sandy yea says the one where Americans complain that illegals are stealing your jobs and we all know that’s not true. The reason is because many of those jobs Americans don’t take or want so who gets them the illegals and minorities of this country. Yes in many countries we value family and community that’s why many people from other countries including Mexico embrace their ancestors and their heritage, we are proud of who we are. If you were living in a country where theirs no jobs, lack of resources and extreme violence were your family is endanger what would you do. You will go to find another place where your children and family will be safe, go to a place where theirs opportunity. But I’m pretty sure you wouldn’t understand since you live such a privilege life you don’t have to worry such things. You should be glad you live in a place where’s opportunity and safety not many have that luxury. P.S I live in America and no I don’t think every American is selfish or lazy I know plenty who are humble and glad they live here. But there are many who are selfish and lazy and yet go out and say they are patriotic when clearly they only care for themselves. So don’t go on a ramble saying all immigrants better yet people outside of the U.S are are third world scums or lazy or whatever.

this should be a huge wake up to people who need to learn to save. I live here in El Paso and if you check the local Facebook Marketplace people are getting this food and selling it. Plus these people get food stamps. Which I dont understand why we NEED these food banks. Basically its food they are close to throw away and rather just give it away rather than trash it. Don't believe everything you see/hear on the news people....

I live in Juarez and we’ve had more social distancing measures than El Paso for longer. Here only 2 adults can be in a vehicle at a time and they must wear face masks or they get pulled over and cited. Also only one person per family/group may enter a store at a time. You must also have a face mask and must use the provided hand sanitizer or you will not be able to enter the establishment. Also alcohol distribution was stopped for 4 weeks to deter people from large gatherings.

If everyone there had legitimate jobs they should be able to file for unemployment the government also allowed an additional $600 a week on top of what you would get through the state.
