Minos and sisyphus are two extremes of the gigachad spectrum. Both saw the death of all meaning and hope to christians (the death of god) and both still had the will to become lesser gods of sorts. Minos devoted himself fully to others, fighting for their happiness and ruling with transparency and honesty. Minos saw that the death of god didn’t mean the death of everyone and that his subjects suffering was a wrong in need of correcting. He laid down his life to protect what he had built, a place where sinners could fully realize themselves and be happy. His love for his people is, ironically, more pure than the one god showed to the damned. Minos offered the sinners salvation, and the angels who very much embody the will of god would never allow him to. Sisyphus was always a pure anarchist, seeking ultimate freedom from all things, even death itself. He struggled all his life against an impossible goal and for this god condemned him to the layer of greed. But that greed, that desire to be free, was so great that even after thousands of years of torture at the hands of demons and angels, sisyphus’s will was still unbroken. The moment god "died" he rallied the other sinners and rebelled. The rebellion had no hope but sisyphus didn’t care, what mattered was proclaiming his will and refusing to bow now that no force could stop him from standing up. In the end sisyphus showed the angels that hell and the punishment of sinners did not work and could not work and it was with the sin of "greed" that sisyphus would ascend to become the greatest prime soul that we know of. Prime souls terrify angels, they are the ultimate apotheosis of mankind and our ideals. And our ideals of love and freedom are terrifying to a people who had to spend millennia’s under the direct gaze of an insecure tyrant who would destroy even his closest advisers for questioning him for a single second. A people that reacted to the disappearance of that tyrant by immediately replacing him with a council of that tyrants avatars. They also terrify god, because prime souls are magnitudes more powerful than any of his creations, archangels don’t even come close and they get their power from god himself, they are avatars of his will. Prime souls prove to god that free will is not a mistake and that he is the ultimate sinner, condemning his children for growing outside his narrow view. A traitor who abandoned them to his actual mistake: Hell

Sisyphus is as much of a chad as Minos is, Instead of being a a gentle king, the man was a Warlord That made Gabriel resort to a sneak attack and a small squad

When I heard Sisyphus' voice, I thought to myself "Isn't it the voice actor from Disco Elysium?" Turns out I was right, and it's cool to hear him in Ultrakill!

If you pay attention at the panopticon's arena, it resembles a panopticon, down to the panopticon being at the center.

Now, hear me out here. What if (and this is a BIG if) Gabriel is the last Prime Soul? He has the emotion for it, he has the power for it, and he is most definitely going to die in the third chapter. What if he dies and becomes a Prime Soul? P-3 could have Gabriel Prime.

Man sisyphus saying "keep em coming!" Always gets me so hyped, brings me right back to dying for the 50th time and coming back in for another round And the last two minutes of the song always make me think of when you finally get the patterns down and start dashing around him and parrying the last hit And "yes! That's it!" Is even more hype, finally getting to halfway was so satisfying

Legitimately the best fight in the whole fucking game so far. I already made a whole other comment on death of god's will about how Gabriel 2 was my favorite fight in the game, both because of his sheer difficulty, and everything that fight STANDS for. Sisyphus completely detroned Minos AND him as my favorite fights in ultrakill, minos was powerful and fierce with a tone of tragedy to his fight, while Gabriel's was insane and chaotic, he was all over the place. Sisyphus not only had THE best level in the game as his runup, but he also teased the HELL that panopticon would've been, only for you to see Sisyphus CRUSH it from the inside out, a feat not even Minos could do. What makes Sisyphus such an interesting prime soul compared to Minos, is that Minos was basically a pacifist being forced to fight you, and his sheer power showed that even a pacifist could be devastating as a prime soul. Sisyphus is a warmonger, he didn't get executed like Minos did, he died FIGHTING the angels, fighting GABRIEL, he was trained in the art of war and his battle SHOWS it. His stance is fierce, his blows are explosive but contained, they're not wild bursts of power like Minos, they're carefully planned assaults with the objective to decimate his opponent, he maintains his composure and seems to be ENJOYING the fight even. I also find it ironic how a pacifist fought you out of vengeance for what you did to humanity, but a warmonger only seeks to fight out to test out your skill, HIS skill. He wants to know what kind of power could challenge hell and heaven and come out unscathed. This game is filled with incredible fights, but so far, Sisyphus is absolutely perfect in every way, just enough durability for the battle to not last for too long, nor to be incredibly fast, his moveset takes ALL of the foundations from Minos and improves upon them, his damage is ABSURD, with yet again another boss that's able to end you in 1 or 2 mistakes, he's just as fast as Minos if not faster, stamina management is an actual REQUIREMENT to fight Sisyphus, everything, absolutely everything hits right to make the perfect boss in the game so far. I cannot WAIT, to see what act 3 and P-3 hold in store, we're reaching levels of quality i didn't even think were possible, god what a sick fight.

Pandemonium does it's job of creating the effect of a monotonous husk trying to kill you. The nonsensical nature of the song, mixed in with the actually coordinated sounding parts give off the impression that The Panopticon is stronger and more aware than Flesh Prison, but still not as strong and coordinated as a sentient being like Sisyphus. The guitar at the beginning sounding like an alarm gives me the impression of the Panopticon being a secret to hell, which would explain the vault doors and the small terminal giving you some small advice, as if Panopticon needed routine maintenance whereas FP was just thrown in there. This is likely because Sisyphus was already becoming a prime soul when he was imprisoned, so people of hell would routinely check up on it to make sure Sisyphus couldn't escape. Though with how worn-down Panopticon looks, it seems like the project has been abandoned, hence presenting the fact that Sisyphus may not have been able to escape early into his capture, but due to the decay of Panopticon, it may have been easier for him to escape. Sisyphus may have had the chance long before V1 entered hell, but seeing how V1 began attacking the Panopticon likely gave the Sisyphus the impression that V1 was capable of holding a fight, thus leading him to break out, and kick the shit out of this silly gopro for like a week.

What i love about panopticon is because of how both it and flesh prison are pre programmed. That implies the steps that panopticon takes to fight v1 are the same pre programmed steps it would have taken to contain the insurrectionists if one broke out of their cell. That explains why panoptocons spawn eyes light up v1 in the fight. Its just like how real panopticon cells light up escaping or rioting prisoners for intimidation and disorientation

Unfortunately, Sisyphus did not come out as gigachadic as Minos. Minos is too charismatic and pumped up compared to Sisyphus, he's full of energy. However, from Sisyphus one can learn at least an overpowering hatred and the will to fight
