Though the Sitar was invented by Amir Khusrow, a famous Sufi inventor, poet, and pioneer, it became popularly known all over the world through the works of Pandit Ravi Shankar. Respect to those Immortal Souls.

Hi, with due respect and no offense to anybody, there is sufficient evidence that the Veena, in its various forms, existed for hundreds of years Before Christ. So it is quite interesting to note this claimed "invention" by Amir Khusrow. Or are we missing something?
@animeshdas38714 жыл бұрын
@@udoyhasan3928 Amir Khusrau is credited for the invention of the sitar. At the time, there were many versions of the Veena in India. He rechristened the 3 stringed Tritantri Veena as a Sehtaar (Persian for 3 stringed), which eventually became known as the sitar(Amir Khusrau - Wikipedia). Though your theory is also not deplorable.

It is not Amir Khusrau but Khusrau khan who first invented the 3 string instrument .

@@amitpatel3071 Maihar gharana is known for its extensive use of kharaj (base) notes with intricate ornamentations (laykari) in the lower octave... You'll find this element in Ustad Ali Akbar Khan Sahab's and Pandit Nikhil Banejee's compositions as well...
