Hello!! It's been two years since your comment so I might importune you. Yeah, Jack said he wanted to comply lacie's wish. But Lacie did not want that. She loved the world the way it was. Jack was a twisted person who misinterpret lacie and decide to destroy the world. He was obsessed with the image of a girl covered in blood but he didn't love her. Jack didn't love anyone.

Jack actually really hated Lacie. She gave him a reason to live, which he did not want.

@@asherville7163 Actually, for clarification, in the official guidebook of PH, the feeling of Jack for Lacie is viewed as something in the space between love and hate. She was his beloved, yet at the same time the object of his hatred. He loved her, but the very fact that his heart has become a prisoner of her to the point he couldn't choose any other paths, drove him to hate her as well. And the book stated that it was only when he loved her, or hated her, that he could truly recognise his "true self". So to say that he never loved her is far-fetched. It's just that his love for her was so distorted through his many years of deception that it evolved into an obsession mixed with pain and hatred. For further clarification, I think the reason why he only recognized his feelings for her as his true self was because those feelings weren't born out of any other ulterior motives. His relationship with her started genuinely without any plotting on either sides. Before her, he didn't have any real relationships since his mother was the only connection he had (though horrible) and she was dead. After his brief meeting with Lacie, every single relationship he built was just a tool for him to meet her again, so many of his feelings were fabricated during that time, to the point he didn't know which were truly his anymore. His feelings for her was the only anchor to his true self, thus came his obsession.

Same here. Jack may have been crazy,but in his heart he truly was a loyal person. Because even when Lacie was gone,he kept on searching for her.

+Judith Castaneda I agree. I've called Jack a jerk before, but even then, I think of him with fondness. Jack is only human. A human can only take so much. It's understandable that he's so twisted. He lost Lacie, his sole reason for existing, and after all the hellish things he had to endure before, her death was the final trigger. He is loyal to a fault. Even after Lacie vanished, he continued trying to grant her "wish". Though that wasn't really her wish at all...

He wanted to spend every sec of his life with her, and couldn't stand the fact she is away from him (which come the "hate", because he felt the warm already). Oswald and Reve made a mistake, while Jack was broken from the fact she's death. The result is that sad end.

+Defi4nc3s1 I agree! What you said is *exactly* how I feel. I think jack, even though he said he hated Lacie, was actually insanely in love with her. That's why he tried so hard to grant her "wish". In one of the chapters, he referred to Lacie as his dearest, which I thought was so sweet.

I'm sorry for the really, really, really late response as I didn't realise there was a response until I came back to re-watch this video >.< I'm sorry Back on topic, I agree how you said that he was in love with her, but in my opinion, it was more of an unhealthy infatuation that he had with her. Because of this, he went to look for her and during this lost himself and didn't know who he was anymore. He didn't know what to do when he lost her again, which, as you said, leads to the tragic outcome for him to do anything to get her back.

I wouldn't really say that Jack loved her. I think he was obsessed with her because she the only reason he was alive.
