Man I didn’t wanna see the dead orangutan it breaks my heart because they understand what’s going on. Seeing that video with Michael the gorilla 🦍 who does sign language sign about his mother’s death is so heartbreaking and shows that these beautiful creature understand what’s going on

Umm the mother and 1 of the twins were released. The other twin stayed behind for awhile because he was so scared. The mom had her cataracts removed so she could see her twins for the 1st time. Where released she was able to see very well

Giving birth to, nursing, caring for TWINS is a monumental task for *any* mom. She’s doing it *BLIND* !! I cannot understand finding fault in these conservationists - they are giving both of these adults what they safely can with the resources they have. These babies will grow up with wonderful nutrition, amazing vet care, and the love & nurturing of their Mom. She will teach them all she can and the rest they’ll learn playing with other orangutans and from the carers in Jungle School.

Even though this clip is old, its still amazing. The word hate is a ugly one but men who destroy and murder beings for their own wealth, ego whatever hates not a strong enough of a word. Seeing that mother orangutan shot ,those men walking off her baby ,I have no words for how that makes me feel. The baby still had moms blood on her. Wow

They are going to live in that tiny cage for 1 to 2 years? Horrible conditions for such a large animal. I appreciate you are working with what you have but couldn't a temp enclosure of some kind be made? How can babies be raised behind those bars? How are they to be taught needed skills? How can they not go stir crazy especially dealing with blindness as well. I hate what happened to them and their land and all the others that are being kept and fed inappropriately .

They should grow hemp. That location should be able to get 2-3 crops in per year, the perfect plant for smaller areas. The plants are hardy & can be grown anywhere. Anything plastic can be made from hemp & it's biodegradable. One acre of hemp produces the same amount of paper as 10 acres of trees that will take 60-100 years to grow more. Building materials can be made from hemp & they are mold & termite resistant & will last longer. Hemp absorbs 40% more CO2 & gives off 40% more O2. It has the ability to cleanse air & land from radiation. Seeds can produce feed for animals & humans which is very nutritious, oil used as a clean fuel & beauty products, clothing, rope & the list goes on. And I didn't even touch the benefits of cannabis. Our Heavenly Father gave us a perfect plant to use as we see fit & what has the rich man & politicians done with it. 😤

Well I doubt that they will be held within a cage the entire time..but I'd sure be curious to see what a blind orangutan will do if set free of cage and chain but not her offspring. I don't believe that the foods needed can be located never mind showing her little ones how to find food. I hope the S.O.B. that did this to mom and dad O's gets a just reward someday. I know it's not good to ignore the plight of these animals, but saving them for breeding seems like a hard thing to manage. With so much bad in this world, saving Orangutans seems like a terrible waste of productivity, I.e., human trafficking, piracy on our oceans, starvation in 3rd world countries. I feel like I am reading about the success of our failure to address larger issues. Seems we follow a lot of lesser agendas that matter when someone with influence gets their way. Sorry, just my view on the subject.

I agree. I’m very pro bush meat as well. There are young children that are starving in poor villages. I see it a lot with chimps. These twisted people would rather spend money trying to save them than help the poor who are just trying to survive. I can’t fault anyone for shooting a mother. Eating it. Then selling off the baby.

@@dsiz9421 People aren't starving due to a lack of hunting chimps, as if somehow if we only stopped having basic empathy and humanity towards chimpanzees, people wouldn't have to go hungry anymore. People are starving because of capitalism-imperialism and the corrupt post-colonial governments set up and supported and financed by said system, as well as the ravages of war due to aforementioned problems. You could hunt down every last goddamn chimpanzee left on this planet and it wouldn't solve the problem. So perhaps instead of murdering a sentient/sapient sister species to us for some temporary scraps of meat, dooming them to extinction for what ultimately amounts to a bandaid thrown onto an amputated limb, we should instead address the root cause of poverty and hunger in those regions.
