Within the context of the exhibition 'Zaha Hadid Beyond Boundaries, Art and Design', Ivorypress held on 4 September 2012 a panel discussion which featured speakers Zaha Hadid, architect and founder of Zaha Hadid Architects; Patrik Schumacher, architect and partner of Zaha Hadid Architects; Kenny Schachter, curator of the exhibition; Norman Foster, architect and founder of Foster + Partners; Luis Fernández Galiano, architect and professor at ETSAM, and Elena Ochoa Foster, founder and CEO of Ivorypress.
The discussion centred around the personal and unorthodox world-view of the London-based Iraqi architect. Hadid is interested in contact points between architecture, landscape and geology and her work incorporates both the natural topography and the systems created by humans. The resulting creations transform our vision of the future with new spatial concepts and bold, visionary forms.

Zaha first degree was in Mathematics, so she sees Architecture as a mathematical problems requiring an Exacting geometrical solution. Even If the Solution comprise of sinuous curves, column free spaces, very difficult to conceive, to draw, to present, and even more difficult to Design structurally and To Construct. She was Ahead of our Times. Thanks to Computers and Parametric designs, her Ideas can now become concrete realities only in last decade, unleashing all her pent up ingenuities and taking root into the ground today.

the contrast between two different architects, Zaha and Norman had their different approach in architecture yet it shows here that both of them appreciates each work and analogy of how each defines architecture and art.

@@dxd4019 I don't like Zaha Architecture, these popular Star architects are just ridiculous pruny jackasses who are famous for being "different" I don't get their architecture and I don't know why the heck they even do it. Like what are you trying to prove. The Architecture is ugly, just make something traditional.

Me encanta todo de Elena: especialmente su voz y aplomo. Sobre la exposición: desde el principio los dibujos de Zaha han sido visiones intrigantes de posibilidades arquitectónicas. It's notable in the discussion of those early non-linear and fragmented presentations that her landmark project for Hong Kong was never realized.

Let me just add a comment here, you know, in 2022....since still happening...nice to hear them all talking about the competition, what a pity that they are not talking about flattening the discrimination between practitioners in society, minimizing impacts at all the levels of the profession, and forgetting about bad business models, such a pyramids :D !!! maybe they care too less, right??? them whom??? all of them!!!!

After watching this interview I can say one thing the Architecture as a profession is being controlled. The people who are controlling it are from Israel, so Zaha being an Arab was being picked on continuously because of her Arabic roots. They disrespected her and did not even comment on the detail of her success since her arrival from Bagdad.

15:15. You have no idea what art is. No one on the panel does, or is expected to have. Those images can be considered as graphics, quite repetative too. And that model for Istanbul is neither art nor does it make sense as city planning.
