I like the Aquaman one. It was what they used for the Justice league cartoon

I think the most sucessful one was probably Aquaman, his resdesign ended up holding as much value as his classic one and even influenced the character's looks going forwards, and what he looked like in adaptiations.

"It's creepy, it's gross! Almost in a way that appeals to me!" That was hilarious!

"If this costume belonged to any character other than Superman, I'd kinda dig it" is basically what I think about the Superman Blue look...which Is why I think it was such a cool idea that he gave the suit to Livewire when she fully stopped being a bad guy and joined the Supermen of America. Unfortunately that story was like the last thing that happened before the New 52, so none of it ever came up again.

Well, for a split second I was under the impression you were going to feature Ben Reilly's blue Spider-Man costume, which was also part of the good 90s costumes. And it's one of my favorite ones ever. Moreover, 90s Namor have had some strong Evil Ernie vibes, I wouldn't know why. And finally! I hope at some point we would receive a proper early 90s Superman costume figure. Mullet for Kal-El is a classic.

I actually got the Superman Blue debut issue, and Ron Frenz was at my local comic shop doing autographs that day. I still have that signed copy in extremely nice condition to this day. Regardless of the legacy of it, this was generated a pretty big buzz at the time.

That 'Ghost Rider' #1 might have my favorite '90s cover. Iconic image.

Electric Superman was an attempt by DC to screw the families of Siegel and Schuster out of royalties. Once the case was settled, they went back to his normal look. And speaking of Knightfall, how could you not put AzBat's hideous power suit on this list?

Angry one-armed Aquaman on the cover instantly makes me want to read about this badass. Apparently, this is what guided most of the redesigns. If you abstract from the characters, their backstories and personalities, almost all the costumes look very good (except CA)

90s Aquman is the best look he ever had! There is a reason the TAS universe stuck to it after just 1 Superman ep with the classic look.

I really like the Biker Wondie look, but then again, I'm a biker and a low-key edgelord

I actually liked a lot of the AoA X-Men designs. Thought Cyclops, Wolverine & "Pirate" Colossus was cool looking. AoA Magneto might be my favorite design of the character.

I disagree about Wonder Woman. That is my 2nd favourite costume after the Amalgam one. Previous costumes (aside. From George Perez's skirt combo) looked like she was wearing 'granny nickers/panties' or even worse adult diapers 😂

I'm gonna defend the Booster Gold power armor. In a way, it makes sense for it to be as bulky as it was, since his original suit's tech probably wouldn't be made for another few centuries. Dude had to downgrade to current tech.

I love azrael's Batman armor. Speaking of... As soon as you mentioned Artemis I thought oh hey wonder woman gets a blonde mentally unstable ultraviolent replacement. It's Wonder Woman Knightfall.

I still dig Hair Metal Thor/Croptop Thor. It's not as iconic as his classic design but it is positively METAL and I can't not love it for that.

You mentioned a different character using the "Electric Blue" costume; Well I can't recall the issue number but supervillain LiveWire wore that outfit when she became a hero in the comics

I used the opening drum sample for an Audio Engineering class at my college. I sped it up though to make a Drum and bass beat. Dude seems to make his own music for his vids. RESPECT.

Idk about anyone else, but all of the age of apocalypse outfits rock. I love the designs of those.

I think Storm and Colossus had good AoA designs. And I feel the same as you do about Electric Blue Superman, solid on its own, but weird for Clark. It was a neat call back to have Livewire wear it. Think you'll do this for other decades? 2000's, 80's, 70's, 2010's. There's a lot of strong contenders for the best or worse. Like Symbiote Spider-Man being an all-time Classic, but Wolverine's Fang costume being weird, IMO.

It hurts to see Superman Blue on this list cause that is one of my favorite Superman redesigns (I actually prefer it over the Black/Recovery Suit). But this has me wondering where you place Superman's suit from "Superman/Doomsday: Hunter Prey"? Cause that has to be one of the most 90's suits to have every 90's.

Namor and Aquaman’s redesign where pretty good I feel Aquamans is iconic even being used as the base in the DCAU. I get what you mean with age of apocalypse in comparison to the regular verse but my man your forgetting Sunfire a design so cool they made it his actual design for awhile

I'm shocked you didn't include Doctor Fate, melting down the helmet into ankh-shaped throwing knives made for easily the worst redesign I have ever seen

Out of the heroes reborn heores designs i do kinda fuck with the heroes reborn FF. Like the pouches on the belt i kinda like as a sorts way to make them more like explorers rather than superheroes. Also the way Jim draws Ben is just so big and bulky and strong looking

I agree with pretty much everything you’ve listed here … EXCEPT for Namor and Aquaman. Those were some pretty dynamic looks and generated a ton of excitement back in the day. The Age of Apocalypse looks were not that great but not that bad either. (Personally, I really liked the alternate costumes for Shadowcat, Quicksilver, Storm, and Wolverine.)

I loved the Fabio jokes, especially since I still ride that coaster on a regular basis. Haven't seen a goose nar Apollo's Chariot in years though. Guess they learned.

I like many of the designs here tbh, especially the wasp one. But yeah, they would've worked better as new characters. I like some of the others for the sheer over-the-topness of them. Harpoon aquaman is straight up badass though. I love it.

I love the Booster Gold armor because I think it's fun that Beetle tried to make it look cool and marketable. It's a ~trendy modern design~ made by a guy who still wears his original Ditko-designed costume, and that's kinda great.

War Machine from ‘95 is hands down one of the worst redesigns ever. The so-called alien ‘Warwear’’was awful. Ghost Rider and Daredevil also had awful 90’s redesigns.

I think a lot of them were basically gimmicks to get people to buy comics again, especially the Superman one. Remember "Death of Superman" and how THAT made front page news or any character coming out as gay. Wonder Woman's "biker" look, didn't the comics always kind of a bondage/S&M/femdom undertone to them, so THAT kind of made sense.

More to complain about with Deodato in the 2020s unfortunately Deodato has been experimenting with wierd panel layouts and his art on The Flash last year suffered for it since it was difficult to register anything on the page, I like his covers, but I honestly Despise his interior work on The Flash Also, more on video topic, Superman Blue was an Awesome temporary look

Any changes to a beloved hero in Marvel or DC Comics has it's up and downs running throughout comic history a creation of a series of characters with the same look is designed to fix them with one history expert they remain unchanged so a major event causes a course of power changes of their history changes or more than one hero vanishes to be replaced by another hero and so on throughout the years of changes in our world which is reflected in comics most of the time? Suppose a hero becomes a villain or changes his or hers appearance through an accident or a power change or a miracle of time changing events or mixtured of these sources a new version a new look and they can never go back? Sources of storylines overlapping without filling in the consequences of plot holes, but sometimes this brings something out of the shadows that could not be unchanged or undone, and yet it will change slowly at some stage?

I feel like the Thor and WW ones both would be fine if you filled in the midriff. The art is super exaggerated but I can't say I hate it otherwise given they are superhero comics.
