Holy shit! I finally found a video where Phil Anselmo still has his high vocal range while performing Cemetery Gates live. I've been searching for the live version of that high tuned scream at the end of the song which is the best part of it. XD

Heroin takes a lot from you. Far more than it gives. That's the scam. Phil in his prime and on record is nearly untouchable in the genre and his frontman stage prescience rivaled the biggest names in modern history. Pantera constantly gets over looked b.c of the same crap alot of decent and honestly pretty good, rap and hip hop get. You fear what you dont understand, because of all the anger Pantera is unfortunately a hard band to swallow if you dont share that thing. As musicians they all put boot to ass and walked the walk. Different breed these lads.

I’m just surprised he survived all those years playing with Pantera, the demand for him to perform with the Abbott brothers, their partying/work ethic style must have been insane. Phil did it, though!🤘😁

I paid no more than $20 when I saw them open for Suicidal Tendencies in SF at a place called The Stone. Place barely held 100 people. I know. I wish they could have keep it going but too much shit got in the way. Then then ultimate tragedy of Dime. And Vinnie's gone too now. They were the band that kept real power metal going into the 90s when MTV and the industry wrote it off. Pantera was proof that it was still happening.

People always talk about how amazing Dime is and Phil in this video (and they are) but I feel like everyone falls asleep on how good Rex and Vinnie were as well. As dime is absolutely melting faces, Rex is keeping everything together. And Vinnie was just an absolute powerhouse.

Fuck, I grew up on pantera, they were all I listened to until I was 5 then I started listening to other bands too, But I unfortunately was born in 97, So no concerts for Me:/ Still on my top 10 list ever. Really wish I was born in the 70s sometime so I could have been an adult for the 90s But either way, pantera still had the same impact on me as it did millions other's, Even though I moved on and listen to death metal and djent and tech death, pantera still always has that spot in my heart and I always go back to my roots

I vividly remember vinny dime and Rex eating tacos at the front door before the show and I just thought they must work there. I found out later they were the last to play.
