I saw Pantera twice in the late 90's. The legend is real. That band was a force of nature on stage. I still wonder how the hell any arena survived the 90's after all the touring Pantera did.

Saw Pantera live in 1998. Will cherish that memory in my heart, and won't see this lineup performing live. Will give thumbs up for the troops that did not have the chance to see them, but will see some version of it now. It's not Pantera, but it's the next best thing. Have fun!

I understand why this is happening and I wanna get excited but we all know how Vinnie felt. Their legacy is in taçt. Pantera will never be forgotten and neither will the Abbott Brother's.

It would make me feel better if they had multiple guitarists and drummers. It would feel more like a tribute than replacements. And yes, vinnie would have been fuming about this.

Ya, that does bother me a bit too. But, there is a huge selfish part of me that says "what can it hurt, I really want to see/hear a PANTERA show on the big stage". Even though I want to see it bad, it's hard to ignore the fact, Vin didn't want it to ever happen. Especially the way its happening. Such a shame

Yeah, I'm happy for people who never got to see Pantera. This will be the closest to it. But it is kinda weird seeing all these musicians coming out saying the brothers would love this when Vinnie flat out called people selfish for wanting this. A part of me feels weird about this whole thing just knowing how Vinnie felt all the way to the end.

I don't care what people say, or think. I think this is going to be awesome. Because it gives the younger generation of metal heads the closest experience to seeing Pantera, and it will inspire them, and stick with them. I have never seen them live, but hopefully I'll be going to see them.

Did Vulgar Display of Power turn 30? Man I'm 44 and that album dropped when I discovered chat rooms and the internet. I remember just listening from beginning to end of Vulgar. This album played a huge part of my childhood to. I'll never forget hearing walk on Head bangers Ball and wanting that album for what felt like forever. I finally found it on cassette at a used video game store and snatched it right up. That tape got played so much it got warped and eaten. I still know every word on that album front to back.

we have a similar story. was that the tour with type o negative? the plywood on the floor got torn up, stuff was set on fire, and ended up moshing on the hockey rink. i saw them probably a dozen times and 100s of other metal shows since, but nothing comes close to that madness

Vinnie never wanted this so it shows what little you know. It’s exactly why this never happened when he was alive. You know deep down Phil is doing this for himself, he gets to be the star of the show and he knows damn well not many people would pack venues to see him without the Pantera name under his belt. Keeping a legacy of them would of been getting a bunch of different musicians together to do a tribute and not making a penny off it.
