Myself and my brother, will go to this hotel only when ever we reach trichy from Chennai.we use to appreciate them in person for their hospitality and the taste of the food.There is no such a hotel in Chennai.A typical brahmin hotel with traditional taste.No onions and garlics in the side dishes.It is nice to see a Iyer Maami sitting in cash counter managing the restaurant.God bless them for their service and sincere efforts.

அருகில் மாயவரம் லாட்ஜில் தங்கல். மதுரா ஹோட்டல் சாப்பாடு. என்னை போன்ற pharma தொழிலில் உள்ளவர்களுக்கு திருச்சி சென்றால் இவை தான் favourite places. அந்த நாளில் ஆனையடி அப்பளம் பொடுவார்கள். உண்மையாகவே யானையின் கால் சுற்றளவு போலிருக்கும். ரசம் கடா மார்க் பெருங்காயம் வாசனையுடன் இருக்கும். வயிராற சாப்பிட வேண்டுமாயின் இங்குதான் செல்ல வேண்டும். சுவையாகவும் இருக்கும். வயிற்றுக்கு கெடுதி பண்ணாத உணவு. இங்கு சாப்பிடுவதற்காகவே ஒரு முறை திருச்சி செல்ல வேண்டும்.....

My husband, grandfather use to say tat this hotel is the best in trichy who provides healthy, tasty and unlimited food right from their childhood ...old method of serving.. People who are serving is equal to God...nobody will waste the food.. Hotel may look older.. But very clean etc.. Weekend we use to go there for their food.. 20 years back,when I was working at Trichy ,I used to take meals in morning.I was very good and nice.I was gift to office goers for vegetarians. 👍👍👍👍

I still remember the first time I had my lunch at this hotel. It was in 1966 or 1967. I paid one rupee for this meal. At that time even a beginning IAS officer's salary was only 500 rupees per month, and an upper division clerk's salary was only 80 rupees per month.

I was regular customer to this hotel from 1985 to 1990. For Five rupees full meals. From morning to night only meals. That sutta aplam & Mysore rasam was my favourite items. Owner. Uncle was a gem of a person. He is no more now.

Without this Video there is no way to know such unique place. Nice coverage! One of my uncle had a flourishing railways canteen in Karur for 40 years and closed down in early 90s! I would think this is a very rare sight to see such home style brahmin food available anywhere as the Businesses cannot sustain in terms of current trends and fast fake foods!

Earlier it was called Madura Lodge which was managed by Pudukottai Gopala Iyer during 1972 onwards. Always crowded for its delicious vegetarian meals. On Tuesday nights Poricha Kuzhambu and potato chips and rasam is the standard menu, which is acknowledged by the moving public overwhelmingly. We have enjoyed Madura Lodge meals for years together. The quantity of food stuff is unlimited. Thanks for recollecting the nostalgia during my stay in Arabikulam street. Their sister concern is RTC TIFFEN RESTAURANT situated in NANDHI KOVIL STREET (Naganarha Swamy koil street), adjacent to Madura Lodge, which was also famous in Trichy during those days. The dishes were also dainty and tasteful. Thanks a lot for presenting a rare video which I admire most.

I am reaching 70 years, belong to Palamaneri, thirukattupalli (my father's), my wife to Mahendramangalam, Thottiam, we stay in Delhi for the last 65+ years, still whenever we come to our native place, Muttarasannallur ( my mother's) and others, , so all referred places near Trichy, we always stay at Mayavaram Lodge in the fort area, near theppakulam, this hotel is the nearest, so we have relished each time, sumptuous food, like home made, no question of indigestion, compared to others here you are served endlessly till you say stop, but only request is not to waste, genuine request, Probably the owners have been blessed immensely to serve the community in the best possible way, the excellent quality food, may he bless for n number of years, so that, many more souls are satisfied immensely, best food continuously severed is in itself an achievement, many many billions of cells are satisfied, each one bless contentedly, we wish you all endless years to serve,

I was studying in Trichy National College during 1981-84. I took food regularly here in morning and night. What a pleasant and tasty harmless food it was. Quite unfortunately, the hotel was closed in the second half of my studies. At that I missed a lot. The present owner is my collegemate and one year senior to me. I was in Burma bazaar from late 70 to late 80s. One of my very favourite. I’m living here in Canada for the past 30 years. Couple of years before I brought my kids here, they loved it. Though not really clean environment, still... unforgettable experience. Long live sir.

I have known this place for over 50 years. I used to stay just across this hotel on the North Andar Street during my National College High School days. After I moved out of Trichy, a visit to this Hotel is a mandatory ritual for me at every visit to Trichy (now becoming more and more occasional). Excellent quality and tasty food served here by very Very friendly staff. There are many people who are very regulars here. In fact, the Vathalkuzhambu or Morkuzhambu is always very special. Absolute value for money. Visiting this place and having food here is a great experience in itself. God Bless the Management and the staff here always.

I ate here 7 years ago. It has been nicely remodelled with nice lighting, dining table, bright walls,etc..Meals was really wonderful. The quality easily beats any other restaurants in Chinna Kadai veedhi near teppakulam or junction.

Whenever I visit Trichy, I stay at Mayavaram Lodge and take my food in Hotel Madura always. Superb food, harmless to stomach.

I was staying in the room above this hotel from 2001 to 2003 (PG in St Joseph's college). I used to get bulk of tokens and eat regularly in the Hotel. This is actually not a hotel but homely mess. No comments in the video are exaggerated and all are absolutely true from heart. It was a addiction for me eating here in this very hotel during my stay. I am damn happy to see the same in video. I will visit there again for sure. Thanks to the Owners for preservation of tradition which is unique and ultimate.

We missed this place when we were in Trichy way back in December 2017. Never mind we hope we will come here again on our next visit to Incredible India.GOD willing.
