This Panzer II Luchs was made at the Maschinenfabrik Augsburg-Nurnberg (MAN) AG,
Nurnberg, Bavaria, Middle, Franconia, Germany.
It was probably knocked out in Normandy and was send to the Maurat Scrapyard at Trun, it was recovered and send to Saumur.
It is now in running condition.

Building this new border model's kit of the luchs the amount I've had to change on it a d now noticed the tools are in wrong places like the wire cutters and the tracks there link n length with lone run on bottom short on top but has you put the tracks on backwards! So TIP if starting it soon don't follow instructions for tools and tracks reserch is key with this kit!

The Pz.Kpfw II Ausf. L Luchs was a lovely small tank and quite fast with good off road capability but it was too thinly armoured and having a too small 20 mm cannon. It was intended to start production of tanks with a 5 cm KwK 39 L/60, but the new gun did not fit in the tank turret. To solve this problem, it was decided to develop a new turret which could take the 5 cm gun on it; however mass production of 5 cm-armed tanks was never started. In my opinion it was not cost effective and I understood that it was quite cramped inside. I really have to visit the Samure museum 👍👍

Very cool little vehicle. Not much of a threat with puny 20mm cannon. Looks like Saumir have added tools and some details. Its in great shape. 👍 still can't figure out how driver and mg gunner get into those downward opening hatches?

actually it was a threat is 20mm cannon it could easilly punch throught the majority of allies armor of tanks like T-26 BT-5 crusader MKI at pact it was close enought thought....
