imagine, if you will, an academy that produces players that can step up to the first team because they pick the best kids in the area and not kids who have connections to the club or ex-players/coaches and are actually in the academy because of their ability. those of you are old to remember, tyneside used to be a hotbed of football and produced top level players, we have not produced one top player since that academy was formed, you'd think the owners would look to change that but don't count on it.
