the magic of this video, together with Paolo's wonderful voice, is the stunnig band playing with him, Lee Ritenour on guitar, JR Robinson on drums, Nathan East on bass, Greg Phillinganes on keys ... what can you ask for more ?

Yes. I heard it last week for the first time. That's why I was searching for the song on KZfaq.

Nice licks from Rit, and East and JR Robinson, very good. Wish they had another singer though, he's a lightweight here.

I agree all this idiot did was sound like a cat in heat trying to sing and screwing up Lee Ritenour’s classic guitar riff!

Dang, please tell your dad he's got it going on! And I know Quincy would have no musician who didn't.

swiller2: He plays with a lot of people. He's got his own group right now TRW and he does his solo thing too.

This guy "singing" reminds of the Jamie Kennedy Experiment skits 😂😮😂

Very good cover....the band is awesome! The only mistake is the singer!

SO true
@BadSneakers14 жыл бұрын
True, but since this was for a Quincy Jones BD celebration I was referring to that version. I've never even heard the Otis version, have you?

Some people don't know when to STFU
@stillphil11 жыл бұрын
Shuggie Otis AND 52 year old Beethoven should lump this fool up!!!
@stillphil11 жыл бұрын
Good musicians - including singers - know when to STFU. exactly ! Or atleast LOOK at the MD/conductor if they do not know the material like this guy Greg TRIED to save this professional amateur @ 3:13 to no avail. I could not believe he was attempting to "vocalize" during the best part of the song.
@stretchmorgan5 жыл бұрын
weak vocal
@rodneylay4834 жыл бұрын
It's too bad Eric Tagg wasn't the fill in singer. That dude doesn't fit at all and to grunt and growl though Lee Ritenour's solo is a travesty. What a band!!! (Minus the singer)
@wutang7414 Жыл бұрын
I hope the "singer" is on drugs because if he's not high or drunk he really fooled me 😂😮😂
@mave1438 ай бұрын
Def high/drunk/ whatever. Sad thing is that he can SING 😭 just not here apparently....
@GrigoriSom11 жыл бұрын
I'd never heard of Paolo Nutini before watching this vid, and due to his excessive vocalizing over one of the greatest guitar parts ever, I have no interest in pursuing his music any further. Good musicians - including singers - know when to STFU.
@wutang7414 Жыл бұрын
That was a very effective diss and I agree with you
