Japan Luxury Hotel Tour & Experience of a Japanese Ryokan with a private onsen in the room. Taberu Oyado Hamanoyu located in the Izu area is perched right in front of the beach offering a serene atmosphere with the soothing sound of the ocean waves. It’s known for its exceptional dining experience, top level service and stylish guest rooms with private onsen baths so we knew we couldn’t go wrong here. While standard rooms are available at a rate of around 26,500 yen per person, we decided to go all in for their 160,000 yen 1200 dollar luxury suite with an in-room private onsen bath to see what it’s all about. Yes, we paid for this trip. If you are looking to travel to Japan or taking trip outside of Tokyo to experience Japan's omotenashi hotel culture, then this hotel would be a great place to check out. So the room itself is quite spacious in Japan at 120 ㎡ (1300 ft²), which includes a Japanese style tatami room, living room with an ocean view, a bedroom with twin beds…and in-room private onsen. Japanese Ryokan hotels typically use local area ingredients and specialties in their food courses. So in this case, we were presented with an assortment of local seafood which we’re more than happy to enjoy.

I love that you are covering ryokans with onsen!!! Tourism in these hot springs towns is really in decline, so I find it wonderful that you are bringing traveler awareness to these beautiful cultural gems. More tourists are looking for authentic experiences, and this content is nailing it featuring the omotenashi of Japanese inns!

@t rex I agree with you from a revenue management standpoint and as a customer. Many of these towns are located deep in the mountains with elderly populations inhabiting them, so there’s a labor shortage already. I went to 2 onsen towns recently. Izu and Fukushima, and more than half of the ryokans were out of business. They need help and strategy in a hurry, or they will be no more.

I don't think price matters too much but, I think it is good to see authentic Japanese experiences like this. For an American like me who is planning on visiting Japan, I'd feel comfortable in a Western style hotel because I know more or less what to expect but, I really want to experience the culture of Japan and stay in a traditional ryokan at least for a couple of nights and videos like this help me to get an idea of what to expect. I'd like to get an authentic experience and to be respectful of Japanese manners and etiquette so, being able to see someone like you show first hand what that looks like is really helpful and informative to people like me. Even while being a somewhat seasoned traveler, I still feel a little intimidated sometimes when booking a trip to place I've never been and stuff like this really helps with that. I'd really like to see a review of an average priced ryokan in the mountains. Looking at staying in Shibu Onsen and seeing the snow monkeys!
