A day in the life of a Japanese waitress in Tokyo working at a Japanese teppanyaki restaurant. This is a typical work day for a waitress in the Japanese food industry and the typical working hours in Japan. This is a look inside of Japanese work culture in Japanese restaurants. Working in Japan is quite unique and depending on the industry may be a bit different from job to job, but many of the jobs also share similar characteristics. The video follows Yuki in her typical japan work day from morning until the evening and everything that happens in between at work. She arrives at the teppanyaki restaurant when it opens and leaves when it closes, very typical for Japanese restaurants. Yuki is a waitress at Pandora, a Teppanyaki restaurant, Japanese style flat grill, which has been a local favorite since 1972 serving Kobe beef steaks and teppanyaki course meals. During her time working as a full-time waitress, she learned the importance of reading and anticipating the customers needs and acting beforehand. It’s a strong part of a Japanese omotenashi culture, a deep and honest form of hospitality, treating customers with respect without asking for anything in return. So for her, even a smile from her customers brings her true joy. One of the main reasons why in Japan tips at the end of the meal are very uncustomary. This among other things shared in this video is what makes working in Japan as a waitress very unique experience.

I am half Japanese and worked at a Japanese restaurant during high school. I was the same - I served tables, made drinks and dessert, dishwasher, and kitchen hand. Maybe it's a part of Japanese restaurant culture. I know that in the US, the roles seem to be a lot more segmented - e.g. a hostess and a server would have very different roles. Quite interesting

managing her own business is a tall order, not only you pigeonhole yourself into a multi million dollar debt to establish your business, you also somehow have to figure out how to attract customer, and make food that people actually like. not to mention, owning a restaurant business mean that you no longer have any private time left. you should work harder than any normal human, or else, those Rent, Electricity and Payroll gonna haunt you in your sleep. owning a restaurant is a torture compared to working at the average 9-5 office job

The Hells Angels, the Comanchero motorcycle club and the Aussie Cartel heads are having talks while you are reading this about their growth in Australia and in Asia. Exterminating The Yakusa presence and their activities in the country would be considerably profitable for the Hells Angels, the Comanchero motorcycle club and the Aussie Cartel. The goal is to initiate their expansion over the Yakusa in Australia and to push it as far as in Japan. According to their plans, they are and will be supported by the Sinaloa Cartel for a part of the gains obtained and it would be done by the end of 2023. They told their mens to prioritize the capture, mostly for torture and interrogation before killing and for selling but to kill right away if they can not capture. This is what members having close ties with Hells Angels chapter leaders are talking about. Some members of the Hells Angels and of the Sinaloa Cartel had already start moving to Australia. The mens had been told to get the job done by any means, even by mass killing if needed. I worked in the kitchen of a Japanese restaurant in America for about 4 years. I was surprised at just how similar things were to this restaurant, it almost felt like the same place. Especially the part about the employee meals not being on the menu. We’d just make random stuff, sometimes experiment with ingredients. Bbq chicken using tonkatsu sauce was a common one. I even made bacon and egg makizushi a few times, it was actually quite delicious. Brings back memories😂

This was so cool to watch! I love that her boss also encourages her to come up with new menu items like that drink! I hope Yuki’s dream comes true ❤

I really love the Day in the Life series. I lived in Japan before moving to a law enforcement career and watching Paolo's videos reminds me of all that I miss about life in Japan. I'm due to retire in January and may reward myself with a visit to Japan. Paolo have you attempted to do a day in the life of a police officer?

Going to work at 10am and going home at almost 12am with dinner. I will probably die of fatigue lol. I'm on a a common 8-5 job and I'm already tired everyday and she's like out of the house for 14 hours a day and she still got to do her hobbies. Kudos.

Just wow dude, she's pretty excellent at her professional work. What inspire me is that her sheer experience in the hospitality field is massive, a honed skill specifically on communication. Also, culture in Japan what helps them innovates on current trends.
