Chad Rippergar based on the deep historical research from our Church Fathers that the Roman Canon of the Traditional Latin Mass was actually written by St. Peter our first Pope and Vicar of Christ and was actually celebrated in Latin as well to top it off. FOLKS this blows my mind and to NOW think that each time I attend a Traditional Latin Mass I can envision of being a part of such an amazing history, even before the Council of Trent, that dates back to St. Peter and the Apostles. The Roman Canon was FORBIDDEN (by the Second Vatican Council) to be changed. To get around this, the Freemason bishop in charge of the liturgy at the time, Anibale BUGNINI concocted three more "canons". One of the three, the Second Eucharistic Prayer - the one most commonly in use today, NOT because it is the "best" but because it is the shortest - was scribbled down on a paper napkin in a Trastevere trattoria, the night before it was due to be on Bugnini's desk (at 10:00 a.m. the following morning). I always thought from what I read that it was all three languages from the beginning. Paul made a big deal about his Roman Citizenship and was all up and down and around the gentile countries speaking in both Greek and Latin. I figured the same for the other, as the area was full of Greek and Latin speakers.

Wow, i never knew the first Mass's were in latin. I listen to Patrick Madrid every day and he said they were not in latin. Now im confused. Ill have to do some more research on this.

Today translations are far more accurate than the earlier translations in Latin. Because of the increased and accumulated knowledge of Hebrew and Greek as well as the clarity we have of the context in which it was written.

@6:00 I wonder, according to Fr. Chad Rippergar, which of the 4 Apostles that Christ commanded to inaugurate different rites?! Hopefully this can be answered if someone knows historically who they would be. My guess that could be one of them is St. Thomas because he is considered to be the Patron Saint of India who travelled to help spread Christianity and Catholicism around that area and that could have also helped the development of their own their Catholic traditional rite the Syro-Malyabar rite.

Ripperger seems to be holding the position that a pope, or now even cardinals, bishops, and priests, whose superiors refuse to judge them, cannot prove pertinacity against themselves. The 58 Sedevacantists hold a pope can prove pertinacity against himself without denying the basic doctrines of the faith. Like what we have to know to be baptized as an adult or what one parent has to know to have a child baptized, or what is in the credo all priests say at Mass. Nor do they have to be questioned by the faithful to prove pertinacity against themselves. They claim any publicly stated error proves pertinacity. And by the way, the faithful can be snide and call Catholics who believe Catholics can prove pertinacity against themselves, 58 Sedevacantists, in order to appear correct in ones theological argument, rather then have an honest charitable discussion. When a Catholic family starts going to a Protestant service on Sundays instead of the Mass. Have they not proven pertinacity against themselves? So St Peter decided that the Masses said in Rome should be said in a language that the congregation could understand, namely their own everyday language of Latin. Why is this not considered precedent for subsequent uses of languages, that is the use of the vernacular so the congregation can understand, for the Mass down through history?

Literally nothing in this discussion was about the limits of papal authority over the liturgy.

All the languages of the nations in Acts 2 (& related to the table of nations in Genesis 11) have the Gospel preached to them by the Holy Spirit through the divine Apostles in their own tongues. Just as Christ’s most precious Blood has sanctified the entire kosmos, so all “nations, peoples & languages” have been sanctified by the Spirit. As He told St Peter, “Do not call unholy or unclean what God has made clean.”

It would be nice to have a book put out that lists official capital T tradition ... that is not to be gone against. In the last screw up of the Roman Missal, the first Eucharistic prayer was actually butchered. Still valid, but so poorly "translated" it is ridiculous. Same with the other Eucharistic prayers and more than of few the other prayers in the Missal.

Or you can just read Amoris Laetitia and it literally says “Reconciliation and the Eucharist”. All his critics only see “Eucharist”. Reconciliation forgives sins, right? So a couple living as siblings are not in sin because they are no longer in a relationship, right? Practice the Catholic tradition in CCC 2478. It prevents the sins in 2476-2477. Like the sin of saying Pope Francis teaches heresy, which is Anathema in the 8th Ecumenical Council. The priest didn’t say any of this.

This was a decision taken by the 'Council of Vatican II. The Mass was changed to the vernacular (local language) due to a decision by the majority of the Bishops at the Vatican Council II in the 1960s. The 21st Ecumenical Council, commonly known as Vatican II, took place at Vatican City from OCT 1962 to DEC 1965. Not the Decision of One Pope but sufficient discernment of the College of Bishops

I am a proud Eastern Catholic if you want the original liturgy of Jesus Disciples from Jerusalem. It is the Liturgy of Saint James (the Brother of Lord) it was written in Syriac (Ariamaic) and Greek. Saint Basil the great transcribe it, the same was done with Saint John Chrystdom. Not a word has changed since Apostolic Fathers of the church period. The liturgy is done at 3 hour (9am) as close to that as possible. The priest begins with the morning office, then the orthos, the 3rd hour prayer. This is straight out of the old testament. Eastern Bishops prays for the Chair of Peter (Pope). We consider these liturgy changes as being silly. You can't reinvent the Liturgy. The Saint James liturgy takes about 3 hours. Russian Monastics have all their young clerics do this. To understand the original liturgy as part of their training.
