Chesterbarnes1 Because of your query I looked up the words in English for the music being sung. I found that it was written by St. Thomas Aquinas and the music was a Roman Emperor's triumphant March. A Roman Emperor gave the Pope the Lateran Palace and is where this took place. St. John Lateran Church in Rome, Italy. This church even out ranks St. Peter's Basilica in that is the Cathedral of the city of Rome (not St. Peter's!) Carved on the front of this church is "Caput et Mater" of all the Christian churches in the world it is the Head (Caput) and Mother (Mater) of them all! A special place? Pax Christi!
